  • Patent number: 4371125
Abstract: A belt strap windup device for eliminating a belt slack of a safety belt system of a motor vehicle upon the motor vehicle exceeding a predetermined vehicle deceleration. The windup device includes a belt roll-up mechanism, a shaft which is constantly acted upon by a retractor, and a windup reel to which the belt is mounted. A pulley is coupled with the shaft at least upon the predetermined deceleration of the vehicle, and an electrically ignitible propellant charge is arranged centrally with respect to the shaft, with the charge being adapted to act upon a driving fluid after an ignition thereof so as to operate the pulley so as to eliminate the slack in the belt. A belt strap mounting recess is provided in an interior of the shaft with a longitudinally aligned belt passage slot and with an insert opening lying at the end face of the shaft. The shaft includes a number of annularly arranged axially aligned ducts filled with the driving fluid, with the ducts terminating at an end face of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4213581
Abstract: A wind-up mechanism for eliminating the belt looseness of a safety belt system when exceeding a predetermined deceleration, in which an ignitable propellant charge, provided for triggering the retraction movement of the belt is arranged centrally in the hollow shaft of a belt roller that blocks automatically in case of danger. A liquid medium is preferably disposed in front of the propellant charge which, after the ignition of the propellant charge, drives a rotor coupled at that instant with the wind-up roller so as to eliminate the belt looseness by the gases forming during the ignition of the propellant charge. The hollow shaft accommodates at one end a cap and a toothed rim connected therewith, into which engages a blocking mechanism triggered in case of danger, while at least a part of the rotor is formed-on at the other end of the shaft in the course of a cold-flow or casting operation.

  • Patent number: 4189177
Abstract: A forward longitudinal bearer supported under angular bending at the end wall of a self-supporting motor vehicle body, whereby the end wall is locally bulged out in the direction toward the respective vehicle end within the connecting area of each forward longitudinal bearer in such a manner that a form-rigid body results; each forward longitudinal bearer is forked in its approach at the form-rigid body and the arms resulting therefrom at least partially surround the form-rigid body.

  • Patent number: 4121381
Abstract: An articulated window lifter, especially for motor vehicles, whose windowpane is to be not only lowered within predetermined boundaries but also has to be laterally displaced and pivoted for purposes of avoiding door frame parts and the like which lie in its way; a pinion supported on a base plate engages with a toothed sector which is pivotally supported on the base plate while linkage parts are pivotally connected with the toothed sector; two four-jointed transmissions with a common fixed pivot point on a base plate are thereby used in superposed relationship, whereby one of the four-jointed transmissions has a further pivot point on the base plate and includes two pivot arms pivotally supported in the two pivot points on the base plate and a rod connecting the two pivot arms with each other; the other four-jointed transmission includes a first pivot arm connected at a fixed angle, with a first one of the two pivot arms of the one four-jointed transmission; the first pivot arm of the other four-jointed tran
