Publication number: 20050275353Abstract: An electronic transformer for halogen incandescent lamps is equipped with a self-commutated half-bridge inverter. The half-bridge inverter contains a start circuit with a start capacitor (C3), which starts commutation of the half-bridge inverter after each mains half-wave by driving a lower half-bridge transistor (T2). The start circuit has to be suppressed while the half-bridge inverter is commutating. This is achieved according to the invention by discharging the start capacitor (C3) whenever an upper half-bridge transistor is turned on (T1). This is done by an amplifier element (V1), which is driven via a high-pass filter (C4) from the half-bridge midpoint (M).Type: ApplicationFiled: June 8, 2005Publication date: December 15, 2005Applicant: PATENT-TREUHAND - GESELLSCHAFT FUR ELEKTRISCHE GLUHLAMPEN MBHInventors: Felix Franck, Helmut Haeusser-Boehm

Patent number: 6605980Abstract: The present invention relates to a synchronous rectifier circuit having a transformer (Ü) in single-phase center-tap connection. MOSFETs containing a body diode are used as switches. The MOSFETs are connected up in such a way that a current flows only from source to drain. The channel of the MOSFETs is always switched on if current would flow through the body diode.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2001Date of Patent: August 12, 2003Assignee: Patent-Treuhand-Gesellschaft fuer elektrische Gluehlampen mbHInventor: Helmut Haeusser-Boehm

Patent number: 6603674Abstract: Electronic transformers with a self-excited half bridge can be destroyed by high-voltage pulses from the mains supply lead. This can happen by the high-voltage pulse initiating a starting operation which leads to cross currents. This destruction mechanism is suppressed by specifically discharging a starting capacitor.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2001Date of Patent: August 5, 2003Assignee: Patent-Treuhand-Gesellschaft fuer Elektrische Gluehlampen mbHInventors: Felix Franck, Helmut Haeusser-Boehm, Joachim Muehlschlegel

Patent number: 6531834Abstract: Circuit arrangement for controlling an analog voltage signal comprising an input connection for applying the analog voltage signal (UE), a digitizer unit (10) which uses the analog voltage signal (UE) to produce a digital signal (UED) which has a predetermined duty ratio when the analog voltage signal (UE) is at a nominal value, a PI regulator (12) to which, as the input signal, a nominal signal (USD) and an actual signal which is correlated with the digital signal (UED) can be supplied and at whose output a control signal (UST) for controlling the analog voltage signal (UE) can be produced, in such a manner that the control signal (UST) allows the analog voltage signal to be increased if the duty ratio is less than the predetermined duty ratio, allows the analog voltage signal to remain unchanged if the duty ratio corresponds to the predetermined duty ratio, and allows the analog voltage signal to be reduced if the duty ratio is greater than the predetermined duty ratio.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2001Date of Patent: March 11, 2003Assignee: Patent-Treuhand-Gesellschaft fuer Elektrische Gluehlampen mbHInventors: Helmut Haeusser-Boehm, Michael Schaller
