  • Publication number: 20240242612
Abstract: A method and device for warning a following vehicle on a defined roadway section about an obstacle. Ego trajectories of ego vehicles moving on the roadway section are captured in a first time interval and a first swarm trajectory is formed therefrom and stored with a first time stamp. A second swarm trajectory is formed from ego trajectories of ego vehicles moving on the roadway section in a second time interval, the second time interval being offset in time from the first time interval. The second swarm trajectory is stored with a second time stamp. A difference between the first and second trajectories and an associated difference magnitude are formed. If this difference magnitude is greater than a predetermined threshold, an obstacle is recognized as being present on the roadway section and a warning signal is output to a following vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11485362
Abstract: Various embodiments include a method for controlling a motor vehicle having an internal combustion engine with a crankshaft and a drivetrain separable from the internal combustion engine using a releasable clutch comprising: propelling the vehicle in a first operating state in a predetermined range around a speed while the internal combustion engine is off and is separated from the drivetrain by the releasable clutch; sensing a braking operation while in the first operating state; predicting whether a power demand is expected within a predetermined time interval; and, if the power demand is expected, setting the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine in rotation, or increasing a rotational speed of the crankshaft in preparation for an engine restart.

  • Patent number: 11187814
Abstract: A method and a device for increasing the accuracy of localization. The method includes the following steps: a) detecting a selected object in an environment, using a camera of a first vehicle; b) estimating a first position of the selected object, wherein a first program uses first location coordinates of the first vehicle and a first distance estimate to the selected object; c) transferring an attribute of the selected object, the first location coordinates and the first distance estimate to a server; d) carrying out the steps a) to c) for a second vehicle; e) calculating a third position of the selected object by the server, wherein a third program performs an averaging of the plurality of location coordinates and distance estimates; f) using the third position of the selected object as a reference position for increasing the accuracy of a localization of a third vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20210003420
Abstract: An object confidence value generation system for a digital road map comprising: a backend and an object recognition device for a vehicle including: a capture unit, an evaluation unit, a positioning unit, and a transceiver. The capture unit captures and divides the surroundings data into segments. The positioning unit determines positions of the segments and of any objects therein. The evaluation unit recognizes the objects and concealed objects associates them with position information. The evaluation unit determines a probability of correct recognition for each object. The probability depends on the relative position of the segment with respect to the object recognition device. The backend generates or updates the digital road map based on the data. Each of the objects in the digital road map has an associated confidence value. The backend adjusts the confidence value of the object based on the determined probability.

  • Patent number: 8594884
Abstract: A process and device are disclosed for playing back multimedia data in a motor vehicle. A digital multiplexed audio-video data stream from a multimedia data carrier, in particular a DVD, is read and separated into an audio data stream, a video data stream and a menu data stream. The audio data stream is converted into an audio signal which can be acoustically output and is output by an acoustic output unit. The video data stream and the menu data stream are combined into a digital graphic data stream which is blanked out when the motor vehicle is in movement. The graphic data stream is converted into a graphic signal which can be graphically output and is output by a graphic output unit. This ensures that the menu data are displayed even when the vehicle is in movement, so that the multimedia data carrier remains constantly useable.
