  • Patent number: 4397837
Abstract: Compositions for the remineralization and prevention of demineralization of the teeth of animals including humans in the form of two phases, one phase containing a water-soluble calcium compound and the other phase containing a water-soluble phosphate and optionally a water-soluble fluorine compound. The concentration of calcium and phosphate (PO.sub.4) ions is about 50 to 35,000 ppm and 50 to 40,000 ppm respectively, and the amount of fluorine compound is about 0.01 to 5.0%, all by weight of the total composition. The compositions may also contain at least one of a conventional flavoring substance, aroma substance, surfactant, astringent, polishing agent, thickener and preservative.

  • Patent number: 4339429
Abstract: This invention relates to a novel toothpaste and more particularly, to a new toothpaste which includes a finely divided synthetic plastic material as a polishing agent and at least one copper compound. This toothpaste has proven effective against plaque formation on teeth but does not exhibit any of the untoward side effects of the prior art formulations such as discoloring.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 9, 1981
Date of Patent: July 13, 1982
    Assignee: Blendax-Werke R. Schneider GmbH & Co.

  • Patent number: 4209504
Abstract: A toothpaste composition contains an alkali metal aluminum silicate zeolite as the polishing agent base. The composition is non-corrosive to aluminum containers, polishes well without excessive abrasion and is compatible with dental fluorine compounds. A particularly suitable polishing agent is Zeolite A having the empirical formula Na.sub.12 (AlO.sub.2).sub.12.(SiO.sub.2).sub.12.27H.sub.2 O.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 20, 1978
Date of Patent: June 24, 1980
    Assignee: Blendax-Werke R. Schneider GmbH & Co.
    Inventors: Helmut Harth, Dieter Becker
  • Patent number: 4193987
Abstract: The corrosive effect of toothpaste on aluminum is prevented by incorporating in the toothpaste about 0.05% to about 5% by weight of a synthetic alkali metal aluminum silicate zeolite. Toothpaste containing a zeolite of the empirical formula Na.sub.12 (AlO.sub.2).sub.12.(SiO.sub.2).sub.12.27H.sub.2 O is particularly useful.
