  • Patent number: 5631781
Abstract: An outside mirror for a motor vehicle. The mirror glass 4 is divided by an approximately horizontally extending separating line 7 into an upper mirror surface 5 and a lower mirror surface 6. The mirror surface 5 which cannot be swivelled about the approximately vertically extending axis 9 is constructed to be swivellable about an axis 8 which extends approximately horizontally in the proximity of the separating line 7. As a result, it is possible during a passing maneuver to view the rearward traffic over a long distance.

  • Patent number: 4595461
Abstract: A process for the nondegenerative distillation of C.sub.6 -C.sub.24 -fatty acids, of the type obtained by splitting natural fats and oils or by synthetic processes, such as for example the oxidation of paraffins, the crude product is thermally dried under reduced pressure, the dried and heated crude product is subjected to fractional evaporation in falling-film evaporators, optionally in the presence of superheated steam, and the various vapor fractions are deposited in condensers. The thermal drying process is conducted at a temperature of 60.degree.-80.degree. C. and a pressure of 90-100 mbars. The de-watered crude product is fractionated in a film-forming evaporator and, after distillation, passes to a rectification column which condenses the low boiling constituents as the main runnings.

  • Patent number: 4434608
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for the combining of strands comprises swinging a hollow shaft about an axis without rotating this shaft while guiding the strands to an assembly point substantially at the pivot of the shaft. The strands are then spread to pass through a cluster of holes on a distributor plate carried by the shaft before being collected again at a closing point, the points lying substantially along a straight line including an acute angle with the axis about which the cycloidal path is generated.

  • Patent number: 4009213
Abstract: The invention relates to an improvement of the known continuous process for the separation of mixtures of fatty alcohols of different melting points, in which the starting mixture by treating with an aqueous wetting agent solution is converted to a dispersion of liquid fatty substances and solid fatty substance particles, the formed dispersion is separated into two phases of different specific gravities, the lighter phase consists substantially of the liquid fatty fraction and the heavier phase of a dispersion of the solid fatty particles in the aqueous wetting agent solution. After separation of this suspension the wetting agent solution is returned to the process.

  • Patent number: 3957426
Abstract: Fatty acid ester mixtures liquid at low temperatures comprising (A) alkylene oxide adducts to train-oil fatty acids, or mixtures, esterified with unsaturated fatty acids, or mixtures, which are substantially free of any polyunsaturated train-oil fatty acids; or (B) alkylene oxide adducts to unsaturated fatty acids, or mixtures, which are substantially free of any polyunsaturated train-oil fatty acids, esterified with train-oil fatty acids, or mixtures; as well as compositions for using and the processes of preparing and using these esters.
