  • Patent number: 9242884
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the controlled operation of an industrial oven which is heated in a regenerative manner and which comprises an oven chamber, in particular a melting tank, in particular for glass, having the following steps: injecting fuel into the oven chamber via at least one fuel injector, which is designed to inject fuel, practically without combustion air in particular, conducting combustion air to the oven chamber in a first period duration and conducting exhaust gas (AG) out of the oven chamber in a second period duration separately from the fuel in a periodically alternating manner by means of a left regenerator and right regenerator which are associated with the at least one fuel injector and which are designed to regeneratively store heat from the exhaust gas and transmit heat to the combustion air. A supply of the combustion air is automatically controlled by means of a control loop.

  • Publication number: 20080131827
Abstract: The invention relates to a gas burner or gas injector having a diffuser, which by control actuations can be modified within wide limits as a free jet burner and is suitable in particular for industrial furnaces with regenerative air preheating, in particular those which have an air supply arranged separately from the fuel gas. The gas injector according to the invention has a gas supply pipe 1 and a mouth 2, wherein the connection thereof forms a long diffuser 3 with a free jet opening angle, and is characterised in that the ratio of the diameter of the mouth 2 and the diameter of the gas supply pipe 1 is smaller than three. Preferably a central nozzle pipe 4 with a mouth 8 forming a free jet opening angle is arranged within the gas supply pipe 1, forming an annular gap 9 for guiding a partial gas flow between the gas supply pipe 1 and the central nozzle pipe 4, in such a way that the notional prolongation of the generatrix 7 of the central nozzle pipe mouth 8 goes into the generatrix of the long diffuser 3.

  • Publication number: 20040099011
Abstract: The invention concerns NOx-reduced firing of glass melting furnaces with preferably lateral fuel introduction at the combustion air ports thereof, wherein cross-flows of combustion air and combustible gas are suppressed by means of wall segments arranged in the combustion air port, air turbulence at the wall segment is reduced by waste gas filling of reduced-pressure regions and a primarily low-turbulence flame base is produced, which is based on the introduction of combustible gas in the form of a free jet. The wall segment and the waste gas filling jointly form a so-called flame base screen. As a secondary aspect the free jet is protected by the combustible gas jet being introduced into the core shadow of the flame base screen. The wall segment preferably simulates the idealised projection of a free gas jet, from the direction of view of the afflux flow of combustion air.

  • Publication number: 20040079113
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for measurement and simple and fixedly structured regulation of quality-determining parameters of the glass bath. According to the invention batch coverage, batch compression, the position of the thermal key points of heat sinks and sources, in particular the glass bath surface and the flames, are optically measured, compared as set values or in subsequent regulation as control parameters and adjusted by fuel actuation, fuel distribution, burner inlet pressure, implementation of additional heating or bubbling throughput.
