  • Patent number: 5410481
Abstract: A method of determining vehicle rotation rates while suppressing interferences caused by sensor principles. In particular, the time-dependent drift of prior art gyro systems is to be avoided in the navigation of driverless transportation systems, and faulty reactions of wheel sensors with respect to the direction information of the vehicle, for example when passing through potholes, are to be avoided. This is accomplished by a method according to which a rotation rate signal (18) generated in a gyro arrangement (12) passes through a highpass filter (20) and a rotation rate signal (22) generated by wheel sensors passes through a lowpass filter (24), and the two then occurring individual signals (18', 22') are combined for a determination of the actual vehicle rotation rate.

  • Patent number: 4776274
Abstract: A proximity fuzing arrangement for an airborne body which is equipped with a reflective beam range-finding device. The path of the beam of the range-finding device extends through a point which is located eccentrically offset relative to and rotates about the longitudinal axis of the airborne body behind a collective or focusing optic, and which extends along a variable viewing angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the airborne body. The combination of a passive infrared-target tracking arrangement with an active-laser range-finding device behind the same large collective or focusing optic, is thereby especially suited for an increase in the power of a rapid air defense-airborne body against target objects which enter into the atmosphere in a steep ballistic trajectory and which are thereby intensely heated.

  • Patent number: 4679915
Abstract: A deformable mirror, especially for the compensation of the influences of atmospheric interferences on the propagation or spreading of high energy laser beams, which incorporates a plurality of electrically actuatable actuators or adjusting elements engaging behind the mirror surface of the mirror. The actuators or adjusting elements is pressed against the rear side of a mirror plate, and is connected therewith along jacket or sheathing surfaces. Thereby, it is possible to achieve an almost point-like introduction of force for the regional deformation of the mirror; inasmuch as the pressure forces can act with a practically randomly small cross-section directly against the rear side of the mirror, while the tensile forces are taken up by the jacket or sheathing surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4655591
Abstract: An arrangement for the focusing of a beam projected from a laser source through the intermediary of a movable platform, in which the laser source is mounted apart from the platform support which supports other equipment while being oriented relative to the movements of the platform.

  • Patent number: 4587902
Abstract: A subordinate-ammunition member with a target-detecting arrangement, in which the arrangement externally of the wall of the member is oriented in parallel with the longitudinal axis of the member. The target detecting arrangement is arranged on a support which is movable relative thereto and is adapted be displaced from the interior outwardly of the wall structure of the subordinate-ammunition member.
