Abstract: A rotor assembly for a laboratory centrifuge includes a rotor body having a loading region encircled by an annular first bearing surface. A lid is configured to be removably secured to the rotor body so as to substantially cover the loading region. The lid includes an annular second bearing surface. Disposed between the lid and the rotor body when the two are secured together is an annular sealing element. The sealing element has a substantially U-shaped transverse cross section and includes an outward facing annular base. An annular first sealing lip projects inward from the upper end of the base and is biased in sealed engagement with the second bearing surface of the lid. An annular second sealing lip projects inward from the lower end of the base and is biased in sealed engagement with second bearing surface of the rotor body. An annular collecting groove is formed on the sealing element between the first sealing lip and the second sealing lip.

The pivoting motion of the lever actuates the hand brake and rotation of the handle selects a transmission gear or driving condition of the vehicle.

Abstract: In the embodiment of a wheel arrangement described in the specification, the central portion of a wheel is in the form of a disk having an annular planar attachment zone surrounding a central hole for engagement with the substantially planar face of a hub. Bolt holes evenly distributed about the annular attachment zone of the disk receive stud bolts mounted in the hub so that the wheel disk and the hub are held in angularly fixed position with respect to each other. The hub has a centering offset projecting axially from its planar face which is located concentrically with a trunnion and has the shape of a circular annulus with a slightly conically tapered peripheral surface which engages the central hole of the wheel disk so as to center the wheel precisely with respect to the trunnion.

Abstract: An arrangement is disclosed for closing the inlet pipe of a container, such as the fuel tank of a motor vehicle. The arrangement includes a cap having a handle portion as well as a fastening and sealing portion. The handle portion is connected to the fastening and sealing portion by a releasable clip connector which becomes disengaged when excessive forces are applied to the handle portion. In addition to or instead of this arrangement, the free end of the inlet pipe and at least the fastening and sealing portion of the cap are surrounded by a protective collar.
