  • Publication number: 20170297240
Abstract: An apparatus for making a foam material body has a mold comprising at least two mold halves fittable together to form separate first and second mold cavities; a first sprue opening into the first mold cavity, and a second sprue opening into the second mold cavity. The mold parts can be moved between an open and a closed position. Foam can be injected into the first and second mold cavities through the respective sprues. A passage, for example, connects the sprue with the mold cavity. The first mold cavity and the second mold cavity are partitioned from one another in the closed position of the mold.

  • Publication number: 20050194825
Abstract: A skin-like covering, especially for automotive vehicle interior parts, like armrests, central consoles, door covers, instrument panels or the like of automobiles, has at least one pigment containing layer (11, 12) applied to a shape imparting surface of a liquid polymer reaction mixture. At least two layers (11, 12) are provided, namely a lacquer layer (11) of at least one layer forming the outer surface and containing the color pigment, and a support or carrier layer behind the lacquer layer and formed of at least one layer. The lacquer layer (11) and the support or carrier layer (12) are each composed of a reactive polymer aqueous single-component or multicomponent dispersion and a respective cross linker.

  • Patent number: 5114639
Abstract: In a process and apparatus for the production of a foamed-backed cushion portion comprising a foam core and a cover, a cover portion is introduced into a first mold portion of a mold. The cover portion is secured in position between the first mold portion and a second mold portion along peripherally extending contact portions therebetween, the mold forming a mold cavity when closed. A reaction mixture introduced into the mold cavity foams up and fills the mold cavity and is thus joined to the cover portion. To prevent air from passing out of the mold cavity between the contact portions the mold is sealed in the region of the contact portions by means of a flow of a gaseous flow agent which is directed from the contact portion of at least one mold portion towards the oppositely disposed contact portion of the other mold portion. An elastically yielding sealing element may be provided between the mold portions to improve the sealing action.

  • Patent number: 4836137
Abstract: Apparatus for spray coating plate-like or otherwise configurated workpieces has an endless apertured conveyor which transports a series of workpieces along a horizontal path beneath a rotary atomizer which sprays coating material onto the advancing workpieces. The coating material which bypasses the workpices and passes through the apertures of the conveyor impinges upon and gathers on a web of paper or non-woven fibrous material which is advanced at a speed less than the speed of the conveyor so that the web can be used with great economy because it is or can be advanced at a rate such that, or only when, its portion which is in the path of sprayed coating material cannot gather and retain additional coating material.
