  • Patent number: 5058483
Abstract: A cartridge feed mechanism of an automatic firearm is mounted pivotably on a drive housing. In the pivoted-up position, a coupling tongue 15 of the transmission shaft 9 of the cartridge feed mechanism engages with a coupling groove of a drive sleeve of the drive housing. The coupling tongue shall be prevented from rotating when the cartridge feed mechanism is pivoted down from the drive housing. For this purpose, a slide 16, which locks the transmission shaft 9 in a locking position and releases it in a releasing position, is mounted on the cartridge feed mechanism. Slide 16 is pressed by the drive housing into its releasing position when the cartridge feed mechanism is in the pivoted-up position. In the pivoted-down position of the cartridge feed mechanism, it is brought into its locking position by a compression spring.

  • Patent number: 4876939
Abstract: With the device a repositioning of ammunition feeds of an automatic weapon into various feed positions and a secured position is achieved. The selective positioning is achieved by a lever which is pivotally supported alongside a drive shaft and abuts by an integrally formed cam at one end face of a pivoting support part axially against a sleeve which is axially displaceable on the drive shaft. The sleeve is under the biasing force of a spring. The end face of the sleeve biasing toward the pivoting support part of the lever possesses also a cam which is in operative connection with a cam of the pivoting support which upon engagement effects a coupling driving engagement of the lever with the shaft. The mechanism acts to hold the lever of the ammunition feed in a respective position by means of the spring.

  • Patent number: 4876943
Abstract: To permit single firing in a machine gun by a mechanical method, a trip lever is moved by a control surface attached to the weapon housing during the weapon recoil after triggering a shot. This motion causes the trip lever to disengage a coupling on the crankshaft. Because of this, the trigger plate can return to its starting position by means of spring force, independently of the position of the cocking lever. The recoil breech can then be caught by the trigger in the weapon housing. If the cocking lever is moved back, it again couples because of the spring.

  • Patent number: 4457092
Abstract: In automatic firearms having a caliber in the range of about 20 to 40 mm, so-called "jammed shell casings" are occasionally encountered due to the high cadences during the extraction and ejection of the empty cartridge casings, so that the returning breech mechanism tends to lose the cartridge, and the ejector plunger no longer fully impacts against the casing to be ejected. In order to avoid this drawback a recess arranged in the breech head concentrically to the firing pin is provided along its periphery opposite an extractor claw with at least one projection to assist in the centering and retention of the cartridge casing and which can be adapted to the respective type of breech mechanism. The projection is formed by cutting or non-cutting working. Preferably, two or more such projections are formed which then, together with the extractor claw, form a type of "three-point support" for the cartridge casing during the extraction.
