  • Patent number: 6283352
Abstract: A first clamping member allocated to the feeding of the web co-operates with a second clamping member allocated to the feeding of the web in order to clamp the web for a feeding thereof. The first clamping member is controlled by a cam disk via lever arm members. A first arresting member co-operates with a second arresting member in order to clamp the web for an arresting thereof. The first arresting member is controlled from the same cam disk via lever control members.

  • Patent number: 5522244
Abstract: When starting up the punch press its eccentric shaft must accelerate through a start-up angle from the resting state up to the operating speed of rotation due to the forces of inertia of the moving structures of the punch press. When stopping the punch press the eccentric shaft is rotated in the direction of normal operation into a position between the upper dead center and the lower dead center position, in which latter position no contacting between the upper tool and the metal strip to be worked upon takes place. From this position the eccentric shaft is rotated backwards by the start-up angle into a start-up angle position. In the start-up angle position again no contact between the upper tool and the strip takes place.

  • Patent number: 5358164
Abstract: The lever of a mechanism for driving a sheet feeder is guided for linear longitudinal movement in a guide member. The guide member is supported rotatably in a bearing pedestal, which is height adjustable. The lower section of the lever is shaped as a hollow profile having inner sliding surfaces. A slide member is located at the sliding surfaces. The slide member receives a pivot, by which a shaft is driven oscillatingly. The slide member is located for longitudinal movement at the center axis of the lever and, accordingly, the lever is not subjected to any torsional loadings and the entire apparatus can be made relatively narrow. This decreases elongations during the operation of the apparatus considerably.

  • Patent number: 5317893
Abstract: Four lever units are linked to the arrangement of connecting rods via a common bolt. Each lever unit drives one ram of the punch press. The rams are arranged in configuration of a square. This allows a much higher loading by off-center forces and the punch press can be designed for a given punch press output with considerably smaller dimensions.

  • Patent number: 5163595
Abstract: Pivot arms which carry the pressing bar are hingedly mounted to the rocker. At their opposite ends these pivot arms are hingedly mounted such to the frame that in one position the axis of rotation of the lower feeding roller coincides with the pivotal axis of the pivotal point at which the pivot arms are hingedly mounted to the frame. The pressing bar is thereby hingedly mounted via a link connection to a pivot point at the frame that a parallelogram of movements is provided, based on which the pressing bar is moved exactly perpendicularly against the workpiece to be arrestingly pressed.

  • Patent number: 5110026
Abstract: The crank assembly of the advancing apparatus is eccentrically supported in an intermediate shaft. This intermediate shaft is in turn supported in an oscillating slide. Accordingly, the oscillating movement of the slide is superimposed over such of the driving pivot of the crank assembly. The intermediate shaft includes a cam disk. Due to the cam disk the intermediate shaft oscillates in operation and causes in turn the oscillating movement of the slide, which oscillating movement proceeds oppositely to the oscillating movement of the driving pivot. The sum of these two movements in the zones of the end positions thereof is accordingly zero. Accordingly, the driving pivot is at rest over a prolonged time span. Due to this prolonged rest period between individual feeding steps, elastical deformations of working structures and of the workpiece being worked upon, can attenuate and fade out prior to the working proper, and at the same time the length of the advancing is not subjected to a change.

  • Patent number: 5102026
Abstract: A pair of arms is hingedly connected to a rocker. These arms support the pressing bar. At their opposite ends the arms are pivotably mounted such to the casing of the appratus that in one position thereof the axis of rotation of the lower feeding roller coincides with the pivot axis of the pivotal point of the arms at the casing. By this design it is no longer necessary to adjust the apparatus for the intermittent feeding of a web-shaped workpiece by utilizing auxiliary structures to various respective thicknesses of the web being fed.

  • Patent number: 5062561
Abstract: The driving gear meshes with the gear on the web of a planetary gear. This planetary gear includes an arrestable sun wheel. The output sun wheel is rigidly connected to the drive shaft. It extends through a sleeve section of the web. A longitudinally displaceable shifting sleeve is located on the sleeve section, which shifting sleeve has a plurality of control disks. These control disks control via a roller the rocking movement of the upper feeding roller. Accordingly, the period of the rocking movement can be selected depending on a respective selected control disk. If the sun wheel is unlocked, the shifting sleeve may be moved such that it engages directly the drive shaft such that by properly selecting the number of teeth it is possible to choose between a rotational speed transmission relation of 1:2 and 1:1.

  • Patent number: 4987794
Abstract: A pusher rod extends lengthwise through the eccentric shaft. An additional disk clutch is located inside of the flywheel, which disk clutch is connected to a shaft section, which engages the pusher rod via a screw thread connection. This allows the drive of the punching press to translatorically shift the pusher rod via the further disk clutch. The pusher rod operates the movement of a locking pin, which locks the eccentric shaft to the eccentric bushing by a corresponding translatoric movement. The pusher rod operates furthermore a braceable coupling disk which transmits the driving force from the eccentric shaft to the drive apparatus of the workpiece feed drive. In order to operate these control units when adjusting the stroke of the press it is merely necessary to operate the machine drive in one or the other sense of rotation causing a corresponding closing or opening of clutches and locking members.

  • Patent number: 4916951
Abstract: A press, in particular a high-speed punch press (1), has a substructure (7) which is elastically mounted by means of springs (14). This makes it possible for the press (1) to assume various heights depending on the applied weight (for example that of the tool). In order to ensure cooperation with a handling device (31) of as simple a design as possible, a locking means (42) is provided, by means of which the substructure (7) can be fixed at a predetermined height.

  • Patent number: 4912960
Abstract: In an automatic stamping press with an exchangeable tool, the guide of the press plunger and the press table is utilized for guiding the tools. To this end, guideless tools with an upper tool part and a lower tool part are fastened as separate tool halves directly to the press plunger and the press table respectively. At both the press plunger and at the press table, at least one positioning device is provided by which the position of the upper tool part at the press plunger and the position of the lower tool part at the press table can be set exactly. The positioning devices are hydraulic positioning plugs. If an adjustment gauge is used, the hydraulic positioning plugs can be set at the press plunger and the press table so that subsequently, the tool halves can be mounted without further adjustment in accurate positions and reproducibly at any time.
