  • Patent number: 5095640
Abstract: A bucket wheel body includes a supporting body having a frustoconical region, a radially outer circumferential region, and a radially inner circumferential region. The frustoconical region forms a carrier body; the radially outer region forms a rounded annular carrier for supporting buckets and the radially inner region forms a rounded hub support. The hub support, the annular carrier and the carrier body form a one-piece construction and jointly define an S-shaped cross section. A disc-shaped hub body is attached to the hub support. The hub body has an outer circumferential edge and a central opening. The outer circumferential edge of the hub body is in engagement with the carrier body, and a terminal edge face of the hub support is in engagement with the hub body along a zone radially inwardly of the outer circumferential edge of the hub body.

  • Patent number: 5062999
Abstract: The invention is directed to a vaporizer for an anesthetic medium having a throttle arrangement for throttling the gas flowing therethrough. A compensating arrangement is provided for adjusting a throttle gap in dependence upon ambient temperature and has a rod body made of a material having a low thermal coefficient of expansion. This rod body is accommodated in a sleeve made of a material having a high thermal coefficient of expansion. The rod body is tightly joined at one end thereof to the sleeve and, at its other end, the rod body is joined to a molded part. This molded part and a second molded part conjointly define the throttle gap. With the invention, a thermal adjustment device is provided for the throttle gap for which only simply formed parts are used and which are made of material not resistant to corrosion and which are easily galvanized. The housing of the throttling device is of a complicated configuration and can be made of a corrosion resistant material.

  • Patent number: 4978000
Abstract: Conveyor belt system for varying the parabola of fall of a conveyed material, has an endless conveyor belt having upper and lower runs supported by and traveling along a belt carrier, and the conveyed material is projected from the conveyor belt at the downsteam end of the upper run. The conveyor belt system also has a support roller carrier having upstream and downstream ends, and a plurality of support rollers for supporting the upper run of the endless conveyor belt. The support roller carrier is pivotably attached at its upstream end to the carrier. There is a return pulley for guiding the endless conveyor belt from its upper to its lower run, and the parabola of fall of the conveyed material is varied by use of a vertically adjustable snub pulley. A pivot arm varies the height of the pulley and is actuated by a hydraulic cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4867212
Abstract: A safety arrangement for filling and emptying an anesthetic vaporizer via a supply vessel connected thereto includes a movable tube-shaped conducting member having first and second ends. A vessel-connecting piece is provided on its first end and an index member is provided on its second end for engaging a vaporizer. The tubular-shaped conducting member has a ventilating channel separate from the filling channel and the safety arrangement is improved with respect to its use characteristics. This improvement is obtained in that a joint piece is connected to the second end of the tubular conducting member intended for the vaporizer. An index member is rotatably journalled in the joint piece and contains respective line segments of the filling channel and the ventilating channel.

  • Patent number: 4625779
Abstract: A receiving arrangement is disclosed for filling an anaesthetic medium from a supply vessel into the charging chamber of an anaesthetic apparatus. The supply vessel is connectable to the arrangement by means of a coupling piece. The arrangement includes a receiving structure having an input opening for receiving the coupling piece therein and a connecting part disposed adjacent the receiving structure. The connecting part includes channels communicating with the charging chamber for conducting the anaesthetic medium to the latter. A closure piece is slidably mounted in the receiving structure to slide between a first position opposite the ports and a second position whereat the closure piece is displaced away from the ports. A resilient biasing spring biases the closure piece into the first position.

  • Patent number: 4493318
Abstract: A locking mechanism for use with two evaporators comprises first and second anesthetic evaporators each having a respective rotatable first and second side-by-side opening valve disc with a radially extending opening therein with an arm located between the disc which has a transverse bore therethrough. The cylindrical latch is slidable in the bore and has an accommodation recess adjacent each of its ends at aligned diametrical locations. A control pin is carried by each of the discs and enters into the opening at one diametrical location and is of a size to be accommodated within the accommodation recess of the latch when the pin and the opening are properly aligned with the accommodation recess of the latch. The latch is positionable in the opening of either selected disc with the pin accommodated within the accommodation recess in a position at which its opposite end frees the other disc for rotation for opening its associated evaporator.
