  • Patent number: 4823692
Abstract: An arresting support for type wheels of printing mechanisms in franking and postage machines and in portable postage and numbering devices includes a bearing shaft having pins disposed thereon. The bearing shaft has a blind bore formed therein extended in axial direction of the pins. An elastic insert is disposed in the blind bore. The bearing shaft also has a given number of stepped bores formed therein extending perpendicularly to the axial direction of the bearing shaft. Two resilient arresting spheres of different diameter are disposed in each respective stepped bore. The given number of type wheels are disposed next to each other on the bearing shaft. The spheres rest in cup-shaped indentations formed in the type wheels. The type wheels are retained in a selected position by the resilient arresting spheres and the type wheels are adjusted against pressure provided by the resilient arresting spheres.

  • Patent number: 4468176
Abstract: A turbine driven pump wherein a multi-stage centrifugal pump unit is coaxial with and mounted on a common shaft with a turbine unit. The two units are connected to each other by a low-pressure section which defines a hydrostatic seal between the interior of the pump unit and the interior of the turbine unit. The inlet and outlet of the turbine unit are connected with each other by a conduit containing a regulating valve, and the inlet of the pump unit is connected with chambers at the outer sides of relief pistons disposed at the high-pressure sides of the two units. The diameters of the relief pistons are proportional to pressures in the high-pressure portions of the respective units. The inlet of the pump unit is coaxial with the outlet of the turbine unit.

  • Patent number: 4012049
Abstract: Floating ring seal means for cooling water pumps, especially for cooling water connectors of water-cooled rotors of turbogenerators. A stabilization of the floating ring is achieved through pistons which are pressurized by pump pressure. This results in a ring seal holding force which increases proportionally to an increasing number of revolutions.
