  • Publication number: 20150360786
Abstract: A cooling device for the cooling of bleed air in an aircraft comprises an inlet opening for letting in bleed air, and an outlet opening for letting out bleed air. Furthermore, the cooling device comprises a heat exchanger with a first surface, along which the bleed air can be led from the inlet opening to the outlet opening, and with a second surface, along which a cooling medium can be led. The first surface comprises a catalytic element and is designed to carry out a catalytic reduction of bleed air impurities. The heat exchanger is a rib plate heat exchanger, and the first surface is at least in part formed by a first rib.

  • Patent number: 6730141
Abstract: A method is for selectively removing gaseous pollutants from the ambient air, and a device is for implementing the method. Undesirable emissions may be selectively and completely removed from the ambient air using relatively simple equipment and a small amount of energy. Pollutants contained in the air to be purified are ionized by the action of optical radiation, based on resonant and/or non-resonant single-photon excitation and/or multiple-photon excitation, so that the ionized pollutants are drawn off and removed from the air to be purified, using an electric field. A small portion of the energy necessary for the ionization may also be applied in the form of microwave energy or electric-field energy. The method and device may be used in air-conditioning or other air-circulation systems.

  • Publication number: 20040023289
Abstract: A method is disclosed for obtaining and/or immunologically detecting an analyte contained in a gas phase by immunologically binding the analyte to a binding partner thereof contained in a gas- and liquid-permeable first carrier matrix.

  • Patent number: 6605444
Abstract: A method is disclosed for obtaining and/or immunologically detecting an analyte contained in a gas phase by immunologically binding the analyte to a binding partner thereof contained in a gas- and liquid-permeable first carrier matrix. Said method is characterized in that a) the analyte-containing gas phase is brought into contact with the first carrier matrix (immune adsorber), b) the analyte is bound to the first binding partner which is contained in the first matrix and not bound to the matrix, and c) the complex of analyte and first binding partner and the free first binding partner are eluted from the first matrix, d) the eluted complex or the free first binding partner is determined as a measure for the amount of analyte present.

  • Patent number: 5690529
Abstract: An adsorber material for collecting, concentrating and/or recovering gaseous and/or particle-shaped trace substances from an air or gas flow, in which the adsorber material is composed of fibrous elements made of natural and/or synthetic, organic, textile fibers which are worked into a nonwoven web having a planar geometry, the nonwoven web having a thickness of between 100 .mu.m and 2 mm and a weight per unit area of between 20 and 200 g/m.sup.2. Preferably the fibers have a fiber size between 1 and 10 dtex and are composed of cellulose and/or polyester, and if desired, the fibers may be provided with a binding agent and/or a moisture resistance agent. In preferred embodiments the nonwoven adsorber web is a fiber mixture of 80 parts polyester fibers, 20 parts viscose rayon staple fibers, and 20 parts polyvinyl alcohol fibers or a fiber mixture of 50 parts viscose rayon staple fibers and 50 parts linters, which are provided with an epichlorohydrin resin binder.
