  • Patent number: 4866831
Abstract: A support is disclosed for a synchronizing ring for the synchronization of gears, in which the stops for coupling to the clutch are formed from lugs which are bonded integrally to the sprocket ring or ring-shaped core. The support is produced economically by a method of punching a flat ring and drawing it into a conical ring-shaped part with an outer radial edge, forming the part and punching an outer sprocket and lugs in the edge, bending the lugs alongside the part to form stops and stamping the tooth profile for the sprocket. The flat ring may also be punched with inwardly extending lugs which are then bent upwardly along the body to form the stops.

  • Patent number: 4742723
Abstract: A support for a synchronizing ring for the synchronization of gears, in which the stops for coupling to the clutch are formed from lugs which are bonded integrally to the sprocket ring or ring-shaped core. The support has a simple structure and can be produced economically.

  • Patent number: 4698889
Abstract: A new core for a synchronizing ring for gear synchronization is produced using a punching and stamping method. The lugs for coupling to the clutch are produced by stamping from the material of the conical core.

  • Patent number: 4267912
Abstract: A synchronizing ring (1) adapted for use in a gear clutch where the ring includes an annular body (2) formed of a chip-free material, such as a metallic body of forged or sintered material or a plastic, and having a generally conical friction surface (6) with a fibrous friction lining (3) cemented thereto. The ring has one or more generally axially extending grooves (5) formed in the friction material to provide for draining of oil during operation of the ring.
