Abstract: In scheduling network resource for cloud network environment including a plurality of hosts, a scheduler determines whether one or more hosts from among the plurality of hosts are available to host a first virtual machine by filtering the plurality of hosts based on (i) first virtual machine type indicator information associated with a request to schedule the first virtual machine and (ii) second virtual machine type indicator information associated with the plurality of hosts. If one or more hosts are available to host the first virtual machine, the scheduler selects a host based on selection criteria associated with the filtered plurality of hosts, and schedules the first virtual machine to run on the selected host. The scheduler updates the second virtual machine type indicator information for the selected host to indicate that the first virtual machine is scheduled to run on the selected host.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and software for auto-scaling Virtualized Network Functions (VNF) in a network. In one embodiment, an adaptive engine stores initial rules for a set of auto-scaling rules. The adaptive engine monitors behavior of the network operator in scaling a VNF in response to events, and generates learned rules for the set of auto-scaling rules based on the behavior of the network operator. The adaptive engine adjusts a sequence of the initial rules and the learned rules in the set of auto-scaling rules. The adaptive engine predicts a future event in the network that will activate scaling of the VNF, and auto-scales the VNF for the network based on the set of auto-scaling rules before occurrence of the future event.

In one embodiment, a communication network provides services to subscribers of a virtual operator. The communication network includes a reporting entity comprising a CDR database configured to store CDRs for subscribers of the virtual operator. The reporting entity also includes a filtering node configured to filter the CDRs to remove fields that are not authorized to be shared with the virtual operator, and to report the filtered CDRs to the virtual operator.

Abstract: A system for enhancing connectivity at a social network. The system is able to identify a user of a telecommunication network, to access charging records for the user pertaining to sessions over the telecommunication network, and to analyze the charging records for the user to determine a pattern of communication relating the user to another individual. The system is further able to determine that the user is a member of a social network, and to provide information regarding the determined pattern of communication to the social network.

Abstract: Embodiments of the method and apparatus utilizes a conventional provisioning interface to the IMS HSS and the Sh interface from the HSS to a generic application to provision service data on the application at the other end of the Sh interface. One embodiment may have the steps of: interfacing a provisioning system with an HSS with a Sh interface; and using the Sh interface as a provisioning interface.
