  • Patent number: 6074589
Abstract: A tool for cutting and shaping a lower edge of a profiled unfinished concrete roofing tile manufactured using the extrusion method, having a tool holder, a cutting insert provided with a cutting edge, and a template. To create a tool which has a significantly increased useful life for cutting and shaping an unfinished concrete roofing tile, the invention teaches that the tool holder and the template are realized in one piece in the form of a support body with a recess for the adhesive and positive connection of the cutting insert, that the cutting insert is made of tungsten carbide and is fastened in the recess by means of adhesive, and that the cutting insert is in contact by means of its upper edge with at least one projection of the support body.

  • Patent number: 5885055
Abstract: A conveyor-collator assembly for use in forming stacks of articles, e.g. concrete roof tiles (T) at speeds of up to 200 tiles per minute, is provided with a conveyor means (42) by which tiles (T) are fed seriatim to a velocity control means (72) whereby each tile (T) is transferred under "no-load" or substantially "no-load" conditions onto a falling shelf conveyor (140). Tiles (T) held in the conveyor (140) are thereafter deposited onto a support (26-28) of a stack forming means (24) under "no-load" or substantially "no-load" conditions whereby breakages of tiles (T) due to "shock loads" experienced hitherto in prior art arrangements is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4549726
Abstract: A mounting member for mounting an engine or transmission on a supporting ucture of a motor vehicle, is constructed as a one piece integral component made of fiber compound material in which the fiber layers have defined, preselected orientations. The damping characteristics can be optimally tuned for specific types of use or vehicles by controlling the materials and orientation of the fibers in each layer, and by controlling the number of layers. Additional damping may be achieved by inserting an elastomeric intermediate layer between the individual fiber layers. The shape of the mounting member also varies according to the load or stress to which the member will be exposed in use. The available space and the type of motor vehicle in which the member will be used are also taken into account in determining the shape, cross-sectional configuration and other structural details of the mounting member.
