  • Patent number: 4048864
Abstract: A belt driving mechanism, providing a speed ratio that is infinitely variable between predetermined limits, of the type in which a belt embraces two pulleys adjustable in effective diameter depending on the separation of two conical discs, is described wherein an actuating element reciprocable between two abutments is mounted coaxially with the driving pulley which has an axially fixed disc and an axially adjustable disc. The actuating element carries a rod with a scale ring screwed onto its outer end, and to urge the axially adjustable disc towards the fixed disc, the actuating element moves the scale ring to take up clearance between itself and a thrust member connected by way of a thrust bearing with the adjustable disc and, on continued movement, to force the thrust member to move the adjustable disc.

  • Patent number: 4022389
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically forming a yarn reserve on a wind-up bobbin of a yarn treatment machine, is described in which a slot disc at one end of the bobbin pinches and tears off the yarn prior to causing the yarn to engage a first stationary catching thread guide through which the yarn passes while being wound to form the yarn reserve. However, as the usual reciprocating thread-guide approaches the end of the bobbin, a movable thread-guide element fixed thereto transfers the yarn to a second stationary catching thread-guide. Then, on reversal, the movable-thread-guide element releases the yarn, the second catching thread-guide being positioned so that the yarn then enters the reciprocating thread guide to enable the yarn to be wound up to fill the bobbin in the wind-up range thereof.

  • Patent number: 4010883
Abstract: A thread delivery device, particularly for use with a texturing device, is described wherein an endless belt runs over two freely mounted rollers on a pivotable support. In the operative position of the support, the belt between the rollers contacts a power driven cylinder over a predetermined wrap angle. In this position, an adjustable abutment keeps a spring loaded belt guide element out of contact with the belt. However, when the support is swung to an inoperative position in which the belt is withdrawn from the driving cylinder, the abutment ceases to be effective so that the guide element, which is carried by a pivotally mounted arm to which the spring is applied, engages the belt and takes up the slack that would otherwise appear due to the elimination of the wrap on the cylinder. The spring may be connected either to the support or to a fixed part.

  • Patent number: 3991545
Abstract: A pneumatic auxiliary apparatus for introducing a running yarn into a false-twist texturing machine is described wherein two suction devices are arranged for attachment to perforated suction tubes extending along the machine and connected to a suction source. One such device has a suction nozzle connected by a pliable tube to a slide valve. This nozzle can be used to draw yarn through a tube leading from a false-twist imparter (associated with a heating plate) to a point where the yarn can be inserted into a delivery device that leads the yarn to the entry of a yarn guiding tube extending through a second heating device. The nozzle can then be mounted in a support at the said entry to enable the suction draw the yarn through the pliable tube to the slide valve. The valve is then closed and the valve is arranged so that, when being closed, it co-operates with a knife to sever the yarn.
