  • Patent number: 5388981
Abstract: A closure device for closing a mold tool for manufacturing objects from thermoplastic materials includes a frame including a first yoke, which supports directly one of the two displaceable mold plates supporting the halves of the mold tool, a second yoke remote from the first yoke and spaced tie and pressure rods extending between the first and second yokes. The ends of the tie and pressure rods, proximate to the first yoke, are rigidly connected with the first yoke and the opposite ends of the tie and pressure rods are hingedly connected to the second yoke. The closure device further includes a mechanical drive extending between the second yoke and the other of the two mold plates and a synchronization device for enabling synchronous displacement of the two mold plates.

  • Patent number: 4878828
Abstract: A closing device for molds for the manufacture of articles of thermoplastic material. Two die plates are linearly displaceable on guide beams and movable by means of a power drive in opposite directions relative to each other. The device includes a frame with at least one tension rod, a compression rod and two yokes connecting the ends of the rod. The rods extend parallel to and the yokes extend transversely of the direction of displacement of the die plates. One yoke has a cantilever arm with which it acts directly on one of the die plates. The other yoke is connected with the second die plate with the intermediate arrangement of the power drive. The frame with the power drive is suspended in a housing which is fixed with respect to space. The housing supports the guide beams which are independent of the frame.

  • Patent number: 4344749
Abstract: An injection stretch-blow molding apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes at least two preform conditioning stations, a molding injection station for initially molding the preform and a blow molding station. Each of the stations is preferably able to process an equal number of preforms at once. The apparatus also includes a turntable and preform supporting jaws connected to the turntable for transporting consecutive sets of preforms made at the injection station to the two conditioning stations alternately, and for transporting sets of preforms alternately from each of the conditioning stations to the blow molding station. This allows all four stations to operate at their respective full capacities, even though conditioning at the conditioning station requires up to twice as long as injection molding or stretch-blow molding.

  • Patent number: 4125583
Abstract: An article moulding and conveying method including alternately extruding parisons and alternately blow-moulding articles from the extruded parisons and thereafter delivering the blow-moulded articles alternately and at different times along parallel paths directly after being blow moulded to two stationary constantly spaced points of deposit along a predetermined path of article travel, the two constantly spaced points defining a first predetermined distance between each other, intermittently moving deposited articles as a constantly spaced group at a time between the alternate delivery of any two successively delivered blow-moulded articles, the intermittent movement being in a first direction along the predetermined path of article travel a second distance, and the first predetermined distance being an even numbered multiple of the second distance.

  • Patent number: 4123217
Abstract: A blow-molding apparatus for producing a flask-like container with a handle has two mold halves which surround a thermoplastic parison for subsequent inflation. Each of the mold halves has a guide channel through which one of a variety of tools may be admitted as complementary pairs. These tools include plungers for defining a region in the parison to serve as the hole of the handle, punches for compressing the plastic material in that same region and, finally, a knock-out mechanism, consisting of at least a ram for knocking out the cooled material so as to form the opening in the container which defines the handle.

  • Patent number: 4102626
Abstract: A tempering mold for parisons which are formed in a parison mold and are about to be introduced into a blow mold has a tubular section open at one end and a second section reciprocable in the other end of the tubular section. A parison which is carried by a blowing mandrel, which tapers in a direction toward the free end of the mandrel and whose smaller-diameter end is closed, is introduced into the tubular section by way of the open end so that its closed end engages and displaces the yieldably mounted second section before the conical surface of the parison comes into contact with the complementary internal surface of the tubular section. The latter is biased by helical springs so that it can yield to the parison by moving axially and/or by pivoting with respect to its support. At least one of the sections is heated and/or cooled by a fluid or in another suitable way to effect rapid and reproducible conditioning of successive parisons.
