  • Publication number: 20100289268
Abstract: The invention relates to an underwater turbine (10) for converting flow energy from water, for example water flowing in brooks, rivers or tidal and/or ocean currents, into mechanical and/or electrical energy, wherein the outlet of a ducted turbine (12) which is flown through by flowing water is disposed in the area where the cross section of a Venturi nozzle arrangement (20) or the like is narrowest. The turbine (12) is preferably designed as an axial turbine, but also turbines having a different design, for example radial turbines, are suitable.

  • Patent number: 6720688
Abstract: Electric machine (10) which can be operated as a motor or generator, with a rotor (26a, 26b) rotatably mounted in a housing (12), a rotor shaft (24) which extends beyond the housing (12) and a plurality of electromagnet components (28) which are statically disposed in the housing at uniform angular spacings and spaced from the axis of rotation of the rotor, each with a coil core (32) bearing a coil winding (30) consisting of one or more conductors. The pole faces of the end faces of the coil cores (32) are aligned with pole faces of permanent magnets (27) which are retained non-rotatably in or on the rotor and each have a polarity which is successively reversed in the peripheral direction.

  • Patent number: 6341660
Abstract: A propulsion unit rotating shaft (10) for single track or multiple track vehicles, driven by an electric motor, particularly for motor scooters with a driving motor (14), which is disposed in the region of one end of an extended rotating shaft housing (12) and constructed as an electric motor, and a hub (16), which is mounted rotatably in the region of the other end of the rotating shaft housing and is intended to hold a driving wheel (18) of the vehicle. The driven shaft of the driving motor (14), which is passed into the rotating shaft housing (12), is positively coupled with the wheel hub (16) of the driving wheel of the vehicle by a transmission device (26), encapsulated in the housing for the rotating shaft, and facilities are provided for the pivotable mounting of the housing (12) of the rotating shaft about an axis at a distance from the axis of rotation of the wheel hub (16) and extending parallel to it at or in the frame or chassis of the motor-driven vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6246146
Abstract: An electrical direct current machine (10), which can be operated as a motor and as a generator and works according to the axial field principle. The machine has a rotor (26), which is rotatably mounted in a housing (12), has a plurality of electromagnets mounted at a distance from the axis of rotation, with in each case one coil winding (34) of a coil core (32) carrying one or more electrical conductors, the ends of the electrical conductors, forming the coil, being taken radially inward and being connected in an electrically conductive manner with, in each case, assigned contact elements having in each case one contact surface and, taken together, forming a commutator, on which contact elements sliding contacts (42) are pressed against a source or a consumer of direct current. At regular angular distances, pole faces of permanent magnets, with in each case opposite polarity in the circumferential direction, are provided consecutively on the insides of the housing end walls (14a; 14b).

  • Patent number: 4711771
Abstract: The invention relates to the compression of a gaseous stream 1. The stream 1 is cooled by a liquid 15 that evaporates at least partially in the gaseous stream. The injected liquid has a composition different from that of the gas to be compressed, and is a component employed in the process in which compression is required and conducted. Alternatively, the liquid is selected from the starting materials to be employed in the process.
