  • Patent number: 4523922
Abstract: The viscosity of aqueous printing inks for gravure printing is adjusted by means of partially organophilic gels which contain plastics mixtures of at least one polymer swelling in water and at least one polymer not swelling in water or to an insignificant extent only, in a solvent mixture of at least two hydrophilic organic hydroxy compounds and one hydrophobic organic hydroxy compound. The printing inks prepared with the aid of the thickener mixtures of the invention contain up to 90% of water, and can be handled as textile printing pastes.Gravure printing inks on the basis of such plastics gels containing disperse dyestuffs are suitable for the manufacture of transfer printing paper sheets. Since the thickening system adjusting the viscosity contains aqueous alcohols, if any, and no solvents as usual in transfer printing inks, no special measures have to be taken with respect to flammability and explosion risks.

  • Patent number: 4505985
Abstract: Membranes based on silicic acid heteropolycondensates are produced by hydrolytic polycondensation of at least one silicic acid derivative in the presence of water and, if appropriate, a condensation catalyst, the polycondensation being carried out at the surface of a support, which supports the resulting membrane. The reactants can be fed to the surface of the support via the gas phase or via one or more liquid phases.

  • Patent number: 4466182
Abstract: An improved stator for an electric polyphase motor, particularly a stepping motor, is disclosed. The stator includes a pole piece star having axially integral pole pieces arranged in star-like fashion around the hollow cylinder with the radial inner ends of the pole pieces located in the hollow cylinder and protruding a pre-determined small distance beyond the inner wall of the hollow cylinder. Thus, the hollow cylinder is set back from the radial inner edges of the pole pieces to provide minimum sized air gaps without requiring finishing operations on the cylinder after the motor is assembled. The radial outer ends of the pole pieces are welded to the surrounding ring housing by laser beam welding. The hollow cylinder is disclosed as an injection-molded part with the pole pieces molded therein simultaneous with the injection molding. A core mold for the cylinder is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4422627
Abstract: An endless spring is an elastic body such as an oval or elongated or circular ring body for the transmission of loads in a main plane substantially centrally through the endless or ring body. Such a main plane extends in the plane of the drawing. The ring body is made up of a plurality of winding layers of fiber reinforced synthetic material. The windings in certain central body layers (2) preferably extend unidirectionally and the fibers in intermediate layers (3) and in outer layers extend at an angle relative to a main load application direction. The whole spring body includes a plurality of intermediate layers (3) and a plurality of outer layers (4) of synthetic resin impregnated fabric plies. The central body layers (2) form a winding body.

  • Patent number: 4417191
Abstract: A method for D.C. braking a three-phase asynchronous machine and a circuit arrangement useful in implementing the method. For braking, the first and third stator windings are separated from their phases and a pulsating direct current is caused to flow from the second phase to the first phase via a closed second switch and a diode. The third winding is short-circuited by a third switch which is connected in a loop with a current transformer; the loop carries a current induced by the turning rotor. A signal from the current transformer flows, via a limit indicator, to a digital logic member (OR). When the motor stops, short-circuit current flow is no longer detected, the second switch is opened and the circuit for producing direct current is automatically disconnected.

  • Patent number: 4381465
Abstract: A stator arrangement for a small motor, particularly of the claw-pole type. The stator arrangement is provided with first and second stator subassemblies which are formed from respective pairs of pole laminations which are contained within a common housing. The common housing is provided with axial slots having predetermined circumferential width and axial depth for engaging radial protrusions of the pole laminations. In this manner, the axial and rotative orientation of the pole laminations, and the stator subassemblies, are advantageously predetermined within the cylindrical housing.

  • Patent number: 4374933
Abstract: Silicic acid heteropolycondensates made from hydrolyzable silicic acid derivatives and substituted silanes, optionally with either or both of one or more functional silanes and non-volatile metal oxides or their precursors are made by a known technique, in which the reaction mixture is hydrolyzed and condensed by the action of water and a condensation catalyst, the latter being employed in an amount up to 3% by weight, based upon the weight of the reaction mixture. Improved heteropolycondensates usable as adsorbents and porous membranes can be made by using greater amounts of catalyst, ranging up to 75% by weight, based upon the weight of the reaction mixture. These improved products are very stable in use and are characterized by a pore structure which includes fine pores and coarse pores, whereby products in the form of membranes can have an asymmetrical structure, if desired.
