  • Patent number: 9057023
Abstract: A process for keeping coke oven chambers hot during the stoppage of a waste heat boiler. The coke oven chambers are kept hot after emptying using externally heated burners, in which a flue gas low in pollutants is obtained from the burners. The waste heat boilers which, during normal operation, cool the flue gases can be shut off and overhauled, and a flue gas low in pollutants which can be dissipated directly into the atmosphere is obtained by the burner operation. Also disclosed is an apparatus for keeping coke oven chambers hot, the apparatus has a coke oven chamber bench, a flue gas collection line, a flue gas chimney, a waste heat boiler, a waste gas collection line and a waste gas purification system, wherein the flue gas chimney and the waste heat boiler can be shut off on the flue gas side and on the waste gas side.

  • Publication number: 20130180514
Abstract: A device for setting up a control element for controlling the gas pressure of a coke oven chamber without expansion-induced deviations of the control assembly, which deviations in comparable devices from the prior art result from high temperatures and temperature differences in coke oven chambers during operation. The device and the method prevent water used for shutting off, cooling and removing water-soluble impurities from riser pipes from flowing out of the control element in an uncontrolled manner. Also disclosed is a method for controlling the gas pressure of a coke oven chamber using the device, wherein the pressure in the coke oven chamber relative to the collecting main conducting raw gas is controlled by using the control element without expansion-induced deviations of the regulating assembly.

  • Patent number: 5736941
Abstract: A navigation device for a land vehicle with means for generating a multi-element anticipatory speech message, and a vehicle comprising such device. A navigation device for a land vehicle senses vehicle displacement and stores map data. Matching of the displacement to the map data produces actual position and motion of the vehicle. Under control of user input, an intended route from an actual position to a destination is calculated. Under control of actual motion and with respect to selected elements of the intended route an anticipatory speech message is generated from a speech message directory. The message comprises a sequence of a message location prefix, a message action advice, and a message outcome suffix. The elements of the sequence may be represented in the directory by synthetic or recorded natural speech.
