  • Patent number: 8242317
Abstract: Recovery of a halogenated hydrocarbon is performed by removing the halogenated hydrocarbon from an accompanying gas and/or temporarily storing the halogenated hydrocarbon on sorption filters, and releasing the halogenated hydrocarbon in targeted manner. The halogenated hydrocarbon serves for removal of an expiration gas using a steam carrier. A flow of the halogenated hydrocarbon takes place through two sorbents, (1) a hydrophobic carbon molecular sieve and (2) a hydrophobic zeolite, in two sorbent beds, spatially following one another. Air mixed with steam or steam has a temperature of the gases between 90° C. and 100° C. at normal pressure. In a filter for carrying out theabove recovery method, two filter beds are disposed to spatially follow one another.

  • Patent number: 8092903
Abstract: A shaped body, particularly a sorbent shaped body, made of microporous and mesoporous adsorbents and of composite adsorbents is provided for, which shaped body employs a reduced proportion of binding agents. The binding agent added to the shaped body solidifies under the application of force, under which force non-uniformly distributed cavities are formed. The proportion of binding agent on the support forming the wall of the shaped body is higher than the proportion of binding agent inside the shaped body. By using modified alumosilicates and/or aluminum silicates with fluidic action during materials exchange and heat exchange, the shaped body provides for high space-time yields while storing heat and cold.

  • Patent number: 8012246
Abstract: The invention relates to an absorbent moulded body, a method for production and use thereof, comprising micro- or meso-porous adsorbents. The moulded bodies serve as process heat and refrigeration sources, whereby a vapour working medium is expelled from the moulded body by the introduction of heat energy and optionally condensed and the working medium, optionally previously vaporised, is absorbed in gaseous form. The moulded body comprises crystalline powder and/or granules together with a conducting surface within a cage, connected to the surface and the powder and/or granules are bonded by the binder in the form of a random bed.

  • Publication number: 20070251837
Abstract: A shaped body, particularly a sorbent shaped body, made of microporous and mesoporous adsorbents and of composite adsorbents, which serve to store useful heat and useful cold, comprises a reduced proportion of binding agents. The sorbent shaped bodies have non-uniformly distributed cavities in the form of vacuoles that form gap volumes, and are obtained by placing the solid pre-mixed constituents of the shaped body onto a porous or perforated support. After adding the binding agent, the process of pre-solidifying the binding agent ensues by the action of an external force field, and this force field results in the formation of the non-uniformly distributed cavities. The proportion of binding agent on the support, which depicts the wall of the shaped body, is higher than that inside the shaped body.

  • Patent number: 6405539
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for selectively removing and recovering gas and steam mixtures which can be used in different technical fields, in particular in the medical field such as anesthetics. Individual components of the mixtures are bound in adsorbing substances while other components pass these. The adsorbed gas is desorbed by way of heating up the adsorbing substances, is liquified in a following condensor and fed for reuse. For the desorbing substances zeolites are used which have been adapted by synthesis or modification for the application purpose, in particular dealuminated zeolites.
