  • Patent number: 4651933
Abstract: A cone crusher is provided for fine and superfine comminution and a high throughput performance. The largest open gap clearance between the crushing mantle and the crushing cone in the region of the crushing zone is not smaller than the grain size of the feed product to be comminuted as heretofore known, but larger than such grain size. A so-called stratified crushing occurs under the filling pressure of a relatively high column of feed product, wherein the grains of the feed product are not individually crushed per se between the crushing tools, but largely mutually crush one another in the crushing gap.

  • Patent number: 4629197
Abstract: Washing out of a grease fill and loss of the barrier effect with respect to dust is avoided in a labyrinth seal of a cone crusher, the labyrinth seal comprising a vertical labyrinth filled with grease and a horizontal labyrinth formed of at least one groove on the circumference of the inner sealing half and of at least one groove, and webs, on the inner circumference of the outer sealing half of the labyrinth seal.

  • Patent number: 4602746
Abstract: For cone crushers comprising an eccentrically-driven crushing cone, it is necessary to provide a labyrinth seal between the inwardly disposed eccentric drive and the crushing cone, the upper seal half thereof being connected to the crushing cone and the lower seal half thereof being connected to the eccentric drive. A new labyrinth seal is essentially distinguished in that helically extending fluids are provided on at least one wall of a cylindrical ring of the lower and/or upper seal half. It is thereby achieved that the slight air flow constantly emerge from the sealing gap and a penetration of dust into or, respectively, through the sealing gap is reliably prevented.

  • Patent number: 3944146
Abstract: A method for determining the adjustment of a crusher gap setting and/or crusher rate of wear in a gyratory crusher with hydraulic adjustment of the crusher cone height. The invention allows measurement of the gap while the machine is in motion and this data permits automatic adjustment during operation.
