  • Patent number: 5317806
Abstract: One arm (30) of the pruning shears is connected via a swivel joint to the end of a guide handle. The swivel joint has a hinge pin (32) the axis of which intersects the axis of the handle at a right angle and is on a line with the guide groove of a cable pulley (24) which is mounted between fork arms (20) which protrude laterally from the end of the handle. By means of a traction cable (48), the arms of the shears can be locked in any angular position of the swivel joint. A locking knob (36) presses the interlocking fork arms (26, 28) of the end of the handle or the arm (30) of the shears together, as a result of which they are fixed in position by friction.

  • Patent number: 5159757
Abstract: Hand shears (1), particularly those which can be used as branch, hedge and/or garden shears, comprise two shearing blades (2, 3) which can be tilted toward or away from one another by two hand levers (4 and 5) about a common joint (6). The hand levers (4 and 5) are joined to one another directly independently of the shearing blades (2 and 3) by means of a second joint (8) which is offset parallel to the shearing blades joint (6). The shearing blade (2) is rigidly connected with a hand lever (4), while the other shearing blade (3) has a driving arm (9), which protrudes beyond the shearing blade joint (6) and to which one end of a coupler (10) is hinged at the linking axis (11). By way of its other end, the coupler (10) is attached also through a linking axis (12) to the second hand lever (5). The two hand levers (4 and 5) and the two shearing blades (2 and 3) together form a four-joint system.

  • Patent number: 4667410
Abstract: In a cutting head for an electric-motor-driven filament-type cutter the automatic adjustment of the length of the filament is effected in that intermittently a rotational movement occurs between a filament spool (36) and a sleeve (24) mounting said spool for axial displacement. The sleeve (24) is provided on the outside with locking cams and the filament spool on the inside with cams cooperating therewith. The sleeve (24) can be pushed in by hand against spring pressure to cancel the intermittent locking. For automatic filament adjustment a centrifugal adjustment is provided. For this purpose at least two radial ball slots (40) are provided between the housing portion (14) and a radial extension (48) of the sleeve (24) and in the ball slots balls (44) are guided which are adapted to be urged outwardly by centrifugal force.

  • Patent number: 4466377
Abstract: A device for fastening handles, that consists of a connecting bushing (16) and an insert (18) that are attached to both the implement (86) and to the handle (10). The insert (18), which has a rectangular cross-section, is locked into the insertion opening in the connecting bushing when a catch (62) on a leaf spring (64) engages a hole (61) in the insert. The resulting positive lock can be disengaged by a push-button (48) or sliding sleeve. The push-button (48) rests against the end (74) of the leaf spring (64) and can be used to displace the catch (62) on the leaf spring from the hole (61). An axially elastic sleeve (84) between the end of the handle and the connecting piece (20) compensates for tolerances. The circular handle merges gradually into an oval or ellipse toward the connecting piece (20).

  • Patent number: 4461357
Abstract: A furrower having shares that are displaceable on a support pipe which is connected to a tool attachment socket by a swivel joint, that can be fastened in any position. The fastening place is effected by a clamping device which can be released against spring action by a manual knob or button. A clamping member within the head of the share is pressed by means of its clamping section against the support pipe. This clamping section can be released by pushing the manual knob inwards. Preferred places of attachment to the support pipe are defined by notches. Each notch can accommodate one share, the share being engaged with the notch by means of a notch pin.
