  • Patent number: 9428848
Abstract: A method for melt spinning, stretching, and winding a multifilament thread to form an FDY-yarn as well as a device for performing the method are presented. Hereby, a plurality of filaments are first extruded from thermoplastic melt, cooled to a temperature below the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic material, and gathered to form a filament bundle without adding a preparation fluid. The filament bundle is then drawn-off at a speed above 1,500 m/min., heated to have a temperature above the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic material, and stretched at a drawing speed above 4,000 m/min. Preparation of the filament bundle with a preparation fluid and winding the thread to form a spool is then performed. The device has the preparation device arranged in a zone of the thread course between the drawing device and the winding device, in which the thread has a thread-running speed above 4,000 m/min.

  • Patent number: 7802977
Abstract: An apparatus for melt spinning and winding up synthetic yarns comprising a spinning appliance, a treating appliance and a windup machine. The treating appliance comprises a runoff godet for guiding the yarns before entry and distribution of the yarns into a plurality of winding stations in the windup machine, the runoff godet being arranged above the windup machine and guiding the yarns in a parallel side by side arrangement on its circumference. The runoff godet is arranged transversely to a winding spindle and above the windup machine, the windup machine comprising a plurality of head yarn guides which are disposed upstream of the winding stations and are arranged in a vertically oriented runup plane.

  • Patent number: 6543580
Abstract: An apparatus and method for applying a lubricant to an advancing yarn, to facilitate the further processing of the yarn, and wherein the lubricant is composed of a plurality of components such as an emulsion of water and oil. The apparatus includes separate containers for the components of the lubricant, and a feed device for combining and mixing the components in a mixing chamber. The feed device also includes a pump for delivering the resulting lubricant to a wetting device which applies a metered quantity of the lubricant to the yarn. Provision is also made for maintaining a desired mixing ratio of the components of the lubricant.

  • Patent number: 6120715
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for spinning, drawing, and winding a synthetic filament yarn, wherein a plurality of filaments are combined in a spin zone to a yarn. Subsequently, the yarn is drawn in a draw zone which includes a draw godet, and then wound in a takeup zone to form a package. To produce a cohesion of the yarn, the filaments are entangled within the draw zone before the yarn leaves the draw godet.

  • Patent number: 4784492
Abstract: A series of equidistant measuring heads is arranged at a uniform distance above a surface to be measured. Each head includes a light source emitting light through a narrow exit opening, and two light sensors arranged adjacent the opposite narrow sides of each opening. The light input characteristic of respective sensors is such that light reflected from the measured surface section is detected with a sensitivity which is inversely proportional to the different intensity of illumination of central and marginal points of the measured section.

  • Patent number: 4712918
Abstract: In a method for measuring ink density of printed sheets by means of photodiodes which scan light reflection from measuring marks provided on printed sheets, the start of a dynamic measuring process during the running of the printing machine is released by the control of impulse flanks, and the reflected light is scanned by sensors having a short response time. A medium reflection value of the surface of the measuring mark is determined. The control of impulse flanks takes place by a leading edge of the mark printed on the sheet, and the signal, released by that control, switches on the photodiodes and the light source. A changed voltage occurring at the output of each photodiode is amplified, and its peak value is stored; and the photodiodes and the light source are switched off thereafter.

  • Patent number: 4690564
Abstract: A densitometric head for measuring ink density of prints in a running printing machine includes a light source for transmitting light on the measured surfaces and sensors for receiving the remitted light. To simplify the construction and eliminate heat effects of the light source, the latter is arranged in one focal point of an elliptic reflector whereas the measured surfaces are situated in or close to the other focal point where an image light source is formed from the light reflected in the reflector. A heat protective filter is arranged between the two focal points to eliminate heat effects on the sensor.
