Patent number: 5323630Abstract: A flow-roller machine comprises a machine frame, a rotatable spindle, a rotary drive for the spindle, a compression tool attached to a face end of the spindle, an axially displaceable pressure pad aligning with the spindle for a workpiece put in place on the compression tool, and at least two rotatable compression rollers that, guided in the machine frame, can be advanced in radial direction of the spindle. The spindle together with its rotary drive and the pressure pad are displaceable in axial direction of the spindle relative to the machine frame and relative to the compression rollers.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 1993Date of Patent: June 28, 1994Assignee: Leifeld GmbH & Co.Inventors: Helmut Wenzel, Karl-Heinz Koestermeier

Patent number: 5220817Abstract: A metal spinning machine with at least one roller holder, the roller holder being mounted exchangeably on a tool rest system with a roller rotatably borne by it. The tool rest system permits the roller to be displaced in at least two coordinate directions relative to a workpiece to be formed by spinning. The workpiece can be mounted on a rotatable metal spinning machine spindle with a rotationally symmetrical shaping tool. The metal spinning machine is equipped with a means limiting the force which can be exerted by the roller on the workpiece.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1991Date of Patent: June 22, 1993Assignee: Leifeld GmbH & Co.Inventors: Helmut Wenzel, Karl-Heinz Kostermeier

Patent number: 5212866Abstract: Disclosed are a method, apparatus and tool for the manufacture of a deep-bed wheel rim from a hollow cylindrical preform. In the method the metal preform is shaped to the deep-bed rim in a single mounting on a single tool of several parts, and the constriction of the middle part of the preform to make the bed is performed with concentric rotation of tool and preform. The side portions of the preform are widened to make the bead flanges by a radial shifting of the axis of rotation of the preform together with a tool part shifting appropriately in the plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation to make the bed and the bead seat. The pressing at least during the widening takes place inwardly in a single radial direction, the direction of the axial shift corresponding to the pressing direction. The invention furthermore relates to an apparatus for the practice of the method. According to the invention, this apparatus is a pressing machine with two spindles which bear a tool in common.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 1992Date of Patent: May 25, 1993Assignee: Leifeld GmbH & Co.Inventors: Helmut Wenzel, Karl-Heinz Kostermeier

Patent number: 5133502Abstract: A flat-jet nozzle for atomizing liquids into comparatively large drops and comprising a nozzle housing with an axial feed passing through it with a multiple stepped diameter, this feed being provided at its end with a nozzle discharge slit. Moreover an inset with a central throttling bore is mounted in the liquid feed between the liquid intake and the discharge slit. A cylindrical central zone of a larger diameter than the discharge slit is present in the liquid feed in the nozzle housing. The inset is provided with a deflector through which the liquid jet issuing from the throttling bore into the central zone is forced, preferably bilaterally, toward the large axis of the nozzle discharge slit.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 1990Date of Patent: July 28, 1992Assignee: Lechler GmbH & Co.Inventors: Lothar Bendig, Ulrich Allagier, Helmut Wenzel

Patent number: 5133204Abstract: Apparatus for the production of sunken shapes in the form of regular or irregular cogs and/or markings on the outer circumference of rotationally symmetrical sheet-metal workpieces. The apparatus includes at least one rotatable spindle with a workpiece holder and at least one applicable pressure roller, witha punch ring which can be superimposed in the spindle's axial direction onto the outer circumference of the workpiece, is concentric with the workpiece, and is rotatable therewith,at least one embossing punch which is held radially displaceably in a corresponding sliding guide in the punch ring and whose length in the radial direction is greater than the radial thickness of the punch ring by at least the radial depth of the indentations, andan intermediate ring which radially externally surrounds the punch ring and the one or more punches guided therein, is mounted floatingly on the punch ring, and can have a radially inwardly directed force applied to it unilaterally by the pressure roll.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 1991Date of Patent: July 28, 1992Assignee: Leifeld GmbH & Co.Inventor: Helmut Wenzel

Patent number: 5113584Abstract: The hub part of a flat disk is clamped between the jaws of a chuck and a protruding circumferential part is formed against the chuck by a roller so that the formed material is distributed axially off-center with respect to the hub part. The formed material is then flattened by a further roller to form a cylindrical preform which is likewise axially off center with respect to the hub part. The preform is formed by a last roller to provide a circumferential area with a final profile for guiding a belt.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1991Date of Patent: May 19, 1992Assignee: Leifeld GmbH & Co.Inventor: Helmut Wenzel

Patent number: 4625916Abstract: A cylindrical inset forming a mixing chamber in a binary atomizing nozzle is mounted in a housing ahead of the nozzle discharge and is provided with radial boreholes. The liquid to be atomized, for instance water, and the atomizing gas, for instance air, are fed to the cylindrical inset, with the liquid arriving axially and the gas passing radially from an annular spacing surrounding the inset within the nozzle housing through the radial boreholes into the inset. The radial boreholes are located in several consecutive transverse plans when viewed in the direction of flow and are arrayed in mutually offset manner in the circumferential direction of the cylindrical inset.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 1984Date of Patent: December 2, 1986Assignee: Lechler GmbH & Co., KGInventors: Wolfgang Nieuwkamp, Martin Junger, Helmut Wenzel
