  • Publication number: 20120194970
Abstract: A device (70) for illumination means for contacting electrical appliances, in particular illumination means (50) with a frame (40) capable of enclosing the illumination means (50) at least locally at the outer edges thereof, and with at least two connection locations (60) capable of serving as electrical contact points (60) for the illumination means (50). These connection locations (60) comprise an electrically conductive material for providing the electrical contacting. The frame (40) is mounted around the illumination means (50), and the illumination means (50) together with the frame (40) are secured to a corresponding holder (FIG. 2).

  • Publication number: 20060292914
Abstract: A lighting unit comprising a lamp and a holder, the lamp comprising a socket, an electric element arranged in a lamp vessel. The socket comprises protruding electrical lamp contacts having radially projecting ends. The holder comprises a walled housing in which electrical holder contacts and contact openings are provided. Upon insertion of the ends into the openings and after subsequent rotation of the lamp, the lamp base and the holder are pressed in axial direction towards one another by a spring force as a result of resilient hooking up of the lamp contacs behind the holder contacts. The spring force is temporarily, seemingly enhanced by reliefs on the lamp and holder surfaces, which reliefs mutually snugly fit once the lamp and holder are assembled. The inventive lighting unit enables accurate positioning of the electric element with respect to the holder.

  • Patent number: 5376025
Abstract: A fitting for halogen lamps of the type having plural contact pins has an insulating socket with a recess for each contact pin. Each recess confines a pivotable and reciprocable plate-like contact which is connected to a conductor and is biased by a coil spring to engage an abutment of the socket and to define therewith a wedge-like path for insertion of a contact pin. The contacts are hinged to the socket adjacent the inlets of the respective recesses, and the insertion of a contact pin into its recess results in a composite pivotal and translatory movement of the respective contact away from the adjacent abutment. The major part of the inserted contact pin is clamped between the contact and the abutment.

  • Patent number: 4927389
Abstract: A fixture for halogen lamps of the type having two contact pins embodies a socket of insulating material. The socket is formed with two recesses which extend from its front to its rear side and receive contacts for the pins of the lamp. Each contact has a spring-biased plate bearing against a plate-like contact element forming part of a U-shaped connector having a bridge at the front or rear side of the socket and a hollow rivet in a passage of the socket. The rivets are connected to conductors by screws. Each connector constitutes a one-piece functional element of the fixture and performs several functions including anchoring and contact element in its recess and providing an electrical connection with the respective conductor.
