  • Patent number: 7611497
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for handling a catheter with an elongate valve body (12), a lever arm (26) which is, prestressed by means of a spring element and mounted pivotably on the valve body (12) so as to be pivotable from a first end position into a second end position (34) counter to the prestressing force of the spring element, a pressure piston (24) which is received in the valve body (12) and can be moved in the longitudinal direction by means of the lever arm (26) in order to open a sealing element in the valve body (12) when the lever arm (26) is moved in the direction of the second end position (34), and a catch mechanism (40) which has an arresting arrangement (42) and a catch tongue (50) interacting therewith in order to hold the lever arm (26) in at least one catching position.

  • Patent number: 6986749
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for handling at least one guide wire (51) in order to guide an invasive medical instrument or in order to handle a catheter shaft using invasive medical techniques. A fixing arm (13) which can be fixed to an introduction valve (1) and a clamping device (16) attached to the fixing arm (13) are provided, wherewith the relevant guide wire or the catheter shaft can be secured against movements in the longitudinal direction. This enables the introduction valves (1) to be operated with one hand, while the other hand can be used for the manipulation of the other invasive medical instruments as opposed to having to fix elements such as a guide wire or catheter shaft which cannot be moved in a longitudinal direction.

  • Patent number: 6805688
Abstract: In a method and a device for use in micro-invasive surgical procedures, and a guide catheter and a valve unit for use in micro-invasive surgical procedures, a bypass section (5) having an enlarged hydraulic cross section is provided, into which an instrument (10), for example a balloon, on an instrument catheter (11) can be retracted after treatment has been administered, thus allowing a sufficient quantity of fluid to flow past the instrument (1) and out of the guide catheter (4). By providing the bypass section (5) with an enlarged cross section, it becomes possible to use instruments (10) with very close-fitting guide catheters (4).

  • Patent number: 6695818
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for handling a catheter. The inventive device is provided with a valve body (1). A lever arm (31) for actuating a pressure piston (9) and a flexible locking component (44) are mounted on said valve body. The lever arm (31) is interlocked with one of several detent noses (49) using the locking component. The lever arm (31) can thus be held in an interlocking position respectively. The locking component (44) is also provided with an actuating wing (50) which can be actuated with a little finger and is oriented in the direction of extension of the lever arm when the lever arm is in the interlocking position. Clamping forces which are exerted on a sealing plug (7) and serve for clamping the catheter can thus be variably adjusted with one hand by means of the pressure piston (9).

  • Patent number: 5941499
Abstract: The invention concerns a sealing valve which comprises a valve body (1) on which a sealing cylinder (8) is mounted. The sealing cylinder (8) contains a sealing stopper against which a pressure piston (18) abuts. A lever arm (23), which is loaded in terms of force by a spring component (31), presses on the pressure piston (18). The valve can be used within the scope of the interventional catheter technique for sealing a guide catheter. Advantageously it can be sensitively and topically actuated with one hand in an ergonomic manner.

  • Patent number: 5295486
Abstract: In a device for transoesophagal echocardiography, an ultrasound transformer (1) is used to make a sequence of layer images for a plurality of parallel sectional planes with the aid of an ultrasonic diagnostic device (8). The layer images made during one cardiac cycle with the image repetition rate of the ultrasonic diagnostic device (8) are stored in a buffer store (34) and transferred to a main store (48) with the aid of a selection stage (49) to generate three-dimensional sets of images only when a locating device (13), and ECG device (24) and a respiration detector (54) generate release signals which are allocated to a constant spatial probe position, a constant R--R interval distance and a constant respiratory state. The content of the main store (48) is evaluated with the aid of an image processing system (56), whereby sectional images may be calculated, especially for any sectional plane, and displayed on a monitor (31).

  • Patent number: 5105819
Abstract: An ultrasonic endoscope device for scanning a patient's organ is constructed using a mobile ultrasonic transducer probe on a carriage housed in a distal and section of the device, within a guide channel formed by a plurality of axially aligned rigid guide links having hollow spaces opened to one side and pivotable by means of a tension wire running through the links. A flexible hose in conjunction with a balloon envelope surround the end section and serves as a water supply path. The device is especially useful for transeophaged echocardiographic scanning.
