A core, which remains in the cast wheel and has a circumferential rim, is inserted into a casting mold having at least one lower mold part and an upper mold part moved relative to one another to close casting mold. Core is positioned by at least one positioning element in a predetermined position in casting mold, so that an end region of positioning element is fixed with a force fit or frictional fit in circumferential rim of the core. A free end region of positioning element, which protrudes from circumferential rim of the core, is placed on a contact surface, which is preferably arranged substantially horizontally during operation, of lower mold part during positioning of core in casting mold. Core is positioned in the predetermined position under the action of the force of gravity.

Abstract: A device for producing formed parts of a not freely flowable mixture of chip and/or fiber materials and a heat-hardenable binders has a first stationary pressing tool part, a second pressing tool part vertically moveable relative to the first pressing tool part, one of the pressing tool part forming a filling chamber and being provided with guiding passages for evaporation of the mixture, and a blocking element means provided for blocking of the guiding passages.

Abstract: A guide for supporting transporting pallets and to be located between the legs of the transporting pallet has a one-piece integral body composed of fibers with a heat-hardenable binder, and both end parts of the body have a density which is greater than a density of the central part. The high density of the end parts can be provided by narrowings formed in the region of the end parts and extending either at one side or at both sides of the longitudinal axis of the body. A device for making the guide is formed to increase density of the end parts of the guide.

Abstract: The process for making a molded article from a nonflowable mixture of chip and/or fiber material and a thermally hardenable binder, includes pressing the mixture in a press with a mold closed on all its sides, hardening the mixture in the mold with thermal energy, and feeding a hot gas, especially steam, in the mixture during the pressing to supply at least a portion of the thermal energy required for hardening. To heat and harden the molded article in a minimum time, the hot gas is fed into the mixture in a direction substantially perpendicular to the pressing direction. Introduction of steam begins at least as soon as the onset of the pressing, but ends prior to the end of the pressing. A suitable apparatus for performing this process is described in which the mold cavity has walls containing feed ducts for the hot gas which feed the gas perpendicular to the pressing direction.

Abstract: A plug for plugging wrapped sleeves of paper or cardboard includes a hollow rotation-symmetrical body one half of which is cylindrical and another part of which is frusto-conical. The outer edge or rim of the cylindrical part is provided with a thickening which continually increases towards the end face of the plug.

Abstract: A one-piece pallet formed of a non-risable mixture of fibers and a heat-hardenable binding agent is designed so that in loaded condition it can be supported in a transporting device or suspended on a stand and two edges of the pallet are supported on the supports wherein trough-shaped corner legs of the pallet are connected with one another by channel-like connecting webs which are curved inwardly and do not contact any other legs of the pallet.

Abstract: A display pallet has a rectangular load-bearing wall, two supporting walls extending along the longitudinal sides of the load-bearing wall, and a plurality of depressions provided in the walls and spaced from one another in the direction of elongation of the pallet. Each of the depressions has an extension formed at the lower end of each of the supporting walls and extending inwardly of the pallet.
