  • Patent number: 6165074
Abstract: A torsional vibration damper includes a main damper arrangement with side disks which are fixedly connected to one another by welding to a flange ring and connected to an input part of the vibration damper. The side disks are coupled in a torsionally elastic manner with a central disk by first spring elements. The central disk is connected to the output part. A predamper arrangement is arranged axially to the side of the main damper arrangement and includes first and second predamper components which are coupled with one another in a torsionally elastic manner by second spring elements. The output part has a radially projecting projection which runs circumferentially at least partially and is arranged between the second predamper component and the main damper arrangement and fixes the main damper arrangement axially.

  • Patent number: 4854438
Abstract: The clutch disc for a friction disc clutch comprises friction linings attached to a lining carrier by connection elements. The connection elements are provided with a synthetic plastics conical head, seated in a conical opening of the friction lining. A shank, on the side of the lining carrier turned away from the friction lining, has been deformed into a closing head. The portion of the shank forming the closing head can consist of synthetic plastics, too, or can be formed by a metal hollow rivet anchored in the head. The synthetic plastics head wears out along with, and increases, the wearable volume of the friction lining.

  • Patent number: 4809835
Abstract: For the snap connection of a clutch releaser with spring tongue ends of a diaphragm spring in a pulled-type diaphragm spring clutch, there is secured to the spring tongue ends a first ring part which comprises a radially inwardly protruding first stop ring shoulder directed axially away from the releaser. With the releaser there is connected a second ring part which comprises a radially outwardly protruding second stop ring shoulder directed axially to the releaser and is insertable, with the second stop ring shoulder leading, through beneath the first stop ring shoulder axially into the first ring part. On the side of the first ring shoulder axially remote from the releaser a radially elastic wire ring is arranged which snaps over the second ring shoulder in the insertion of the second ring part. A support ring is axially fixedly inserted into the first ring part and axially supports the wire ring on a ring shoulder in the insertion of the second ring part.

  • Patent number: 4810231
Abstract: The torsional vibration damper comprises in apertures in an input part and in an output part rotatable in relation to the input part coil thrust springs which couple the input part and the output part together in torsionally elastic fashion. Over a plurality of turns of the coil spring, the diameter of the wire material varies continuously from a first value to a second value. From one end of the spring to the other, it is possible for the diameter to diminish steadily. The diameter can however also either increase or decrease from the middle of the coil sprng towards the two ends. Springs of this type make it possible with relatively minimal structural expenditure to provide torsional vibration dampers which have a progressive characteristic.

  • Patent number: 4669594
Abstract: The clutch disc for a friction disc clutch has a hub with external toothing engaging an internal toothing of a hub disc with predetermined rotational play. Axially on both sides of the hub disc, there are arranged side discs of an under-load vibration damper. Damper springs of an idling vibration damper are seated in windows of the hub disc radially inwardly of damper springs of the under-load vibration damper. The idling damper springs are coupled with the hub through side discs. The side discs are arranged axially on both sides of the hub disc and coupled non-rotatably with the external toothing of the hub. For the connection of the ends of the idling damper springs with the side discs, separate tabs formed on the side discs are provided. The components of an under-load friction damper can be arranged within or radially outwardly of the region defined by the under-load damper springs.

  • Patent number: 4651857
Abstract: A clutch disk for a motor vehicle clutch comprises a clutch lining carrier with a cover plate facing a first side face of the hub disk. In view of frictional damping of angular movement of the clutch lining carrier with respect to a hub carrying the hub disk a pressure plate is provided axially between the cover plate and the first side face of the hub disk. A friction ring is provided axially between the pressure plate and the side face. Leaf springs are provided axially between the cover plate and the pressure plate. These leaf springs generate an axial pressure between the pressure plate and the side face and connect the pressure plate for common angular movement with the cover plate.

  • Patent number: 4592459
Abstract: An elastic damper of a clutch disc comprises a middle disc and two side discs. Helical compression springs are accommodated in overlapping windows of the middle disc and the side discs. The angular deflection of the side discs with respect to the middle disc is limited by a radially outer projection of the middle disc engaging recesses in axially approached lugs of the side discs projecting beyond the radially circumferential edges of the side discs.

  • Patent number: 4591040
Abstract: The invention relates to a clutch disc with vibration damper, in which a driven plate carrying the friction linings is arranged between two cover plates firmly connected with the hub. Friction rings are arranged between the driven plate and the cover plates. The axial force generation for the achievement of a friction force is effected through externally situated leaf springs which extend radially between individual helical springs. The leaf springs are riveted fast at their radially inner ends with the hub and with their outer ends they press through distance pieces upon a presser plate which is situated between the one cover plate and the one of the friction rings. The presser plate is arranged fast in rotation but axially displaceably in relation to the pertinent cover plate. Tabs bent off axially on the external circumference of the presser plate here engage in corresponding recesses of the cover plate.

  • Patent number: 4274525
Abstract: In a clutch disc, a flange disc is secured to and projects radially outwardly from an axially extending hub. A friction lining carrier projects radially outwardly from the hub and for a portion of its radial extent it is coextensive with the flange disc. Circumferentially extending springs are seated between stop faces on the flange disc and the friction lining carrier and limit the rotational movement of the carrier relative to the flange disc. Friction members are positioned between the friction lining carrier and the flange disc. One or more contact members are positioned between the friction lining carrier and the flange disc with the contact member being rotatable relative to the friction members.
