  • Publication number: 20150081484
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes storing a cost assigned to a physical computing device in a storage device. The physical computing device is found in a physical infrastructure of a data center. The method determines an instantiation of a virtual machine in a virtual infrastructure. Information for a provisioning of the virtual machine with the physical computing device in the physical infrastructure of the data center is then received. The cost assigned to the physical computing device from the storage device is determined where the cost is used to determine a charge for the virtual machine based on usage of the physical computing device.

  • Publication number: 20150063313
Abstract: The present disclosure presents a method and apparatus for improving uplink (UL) performance at a user equipment (UE). For example, the method may include identifying a random access channel (RACH) preamble failure when the UE is communicating with a current serving cell of the UE, increasing transmission power of successive RACH preambles based at least on the identifying, comparing signals received on a downlink at the UE via a first path and a second path from the current serving cell of the UE, and determining that a RACH preamble failure problem exists at the UE based at least on the comparing of the signals received on the downlink and identifying of successive RACH preamble failures. As such, improved performance uplink (UL) performance at a UE may be achieved.

  • Publication number: 20150057046
Abstract: Methods and devices are disclosed for enabling improved performance for page decodes on a SIM of a multi-SIM wireless communication device in which a shared radio frequency (RF) resource is used to read system information for a different SIM. After determining that a first SIM is using the shared RF resource to decode SIBs, the wireless device may receive information about an upcoming page decode time for monitoring a paging channel associated with the second SIM. The wireless device may obtain system information block (SIB) scheduling information associated with the first SIM, and may create a RF resource release gap during the system information read period based on the SIB scheduling information and the upcoming page decode time. Control of the RF resource may be released from the modem stack associated within the first SIM, and gained by a modem stack associated with the second SIM during the RF resource release gap.

  • Patent number: 8730396
Abstract: A computer implemented method and system for capturing events of interest by performing a spatio-temporal analysis of a video are provided. A continuous video stream containing a series of image frames is acquired over time. Each of the image frames is represented by horizontal spatial coordinates and vertical spatial coordinates of a two dimensional plane. A temporal dimension is assigned across the image frames of the video stream. A spatio-temporal analysis image is constructed based on a user-defined line of analysis on each of one or more of the image frames. The spatio-temporal analysis image is constructed by concatenating a series of temporally-successive linear pixel arrays along the temporal dimension. Each of the linear pixel arrays comprises an array of pixels along the line of analysis defined on each of one or more of the image frames. The constructed spatio-temporal analysis image is segmented for capturing the events of interest.

  • Patent number: 8401250
Abstract: A computer implemented method and system for detecting interest sections in a still image are provided. One or more sub images of the still image is subjected to segmentation. A gray scale version of interest sub images and/or a binary image version of the interest sub images are matched with a predefined template for filtering the interest sub images. Multiple prospective image sections comprising one or more of prospective interest sections and prospective near interest sections are determined by performing discriminative feature analyses of the filtered interest sub images using a gabor feature filter. The discriminative feature analyses are processed by a boosted cascade of classifiers. The boosted cascade of classifiers detects the interest sections in the still image from the prospective interest sections and the prospective near interest sections. The detected interest sections are subjected to a support vector machine classifier for further detecting interest sections.

  • Patent number: 8385689
Abstract: A computer implemented method and system is provided for aligning multiple overlapping images in real time using translation invariant feature matching. A user captures overlapping images comprising a first image and a second image using one or more image capture devices. An image aligning application determines one or more local maxima pixel points and local minima pixel points in the first image and the second image based on predetermined statistical criteria. The image aligning application performs iterative intra image correlation in the first image for selecting a predetermined number of feature points. The image aligning application performs iterative inter image correlation for the selected feature points, for determining a predetermined number of best correlated feature point pairs, and selects a matching feature point pair from the best correlated feature point pairs. The image aligning application aligns the first image and the second image using the selected matching feature point pair.
