  • Patent number: 4426827
Abstract: A mowing implement essentially comprising a housing extending transversely of the direction of movement of the mowing implement, a plurality of mowing members rotatably journalled on said housing and a drive assembly arranged within said housing for driving the mowing members and formed by a sequence of gears including both driving gears connected with the moving members and at least four coupling gears drivingly interconnecting each adjacent pair of driving gears. All of the gears are small and are arranged in line so that the housing is narrow. The housing is made very rigid by fixedly interconnecting the top and bottom walls together by structure which supports the bearings for the coupling gears. The assembly is economical so that it can be replaced as a unit rather than being repaired.

  • Patent number: 4345420
Abstract: In a mowing implement comprising a housing and a number of cutting members rotatably journalled on said housing the danger of damage of the implement due to stones jammed between a cutting member and said housing is avoided in that each cutter is fastened to the top side of a holder skimming the top side of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4275547
Abstract: The girder of a mowing device above which cutting members are arranged and which is destined to be suspended to the side of a tractor, is being loaded heavily on bending and/or torsion if the girder comprises remote from the end of the tractor a swath former. Therefore, the swath former is carried by a carrier extending on high level.

  • Patent number: 4238917
Abstract: In order to prevent the adhesion of crop to a swath board of a mowing device, the or each swath former comprises an endless member passed around a foremost and a hindmost reversing element, viewed in the direction of movement, the crop advancing run of said member being at an acute angle to the carrier.

  • Patent number: 4235069
Abstract: A device for mowing crop comprising a pair of discs adapted to rotate in the cutting plane, driven with equal angular speeds and pairwise in opposite senses and having each outwardly projecting cutters.A cutter may be bent upwardly due to impact on a stone. In order to avoid further damage of the device the circumferential rim of each disc is incised in between every two cutters essentially along an arc of a circle having a center of curvature located outside the circumferential rim.

  • Patent number: 4183196
Abstract: A mowing device includes at least a pair of cooperative rotary cutting mechanisms. Each cutting mechanism comprises a driven carrier and at least one cutter pivotally connected thereto and projecting radially therefrom. Mounted below each carrier is a cutting plate having a cutting edge above which the associated cutter sweeps. The cutting edge of the cutter normally lies along a line which defines an acute angle with at least portions of the cutting edge of the cutting plate so as to effect a scissors action therewith, and which line also is angularly offset by more than 90.degree. with respect to a line passing through the center of gravity of the cutter and the axis of rotation of the carrier.

  • Patent number: 4141202
Abstract: A mowing implement comprising a housing extending transversely of the direction of movement of the implement, a plurality of cutting members rotatably journalled on said housing and a driving gear train driving the cutting members and arranged in said housing and formed by a series of gears, each cutting member being rigidly secured with a driving gear of said series, while the driving gears are coupled with one another by means of coupling gears, is simplified, if at least one gear of said series is rotatably journalled with respect to the housing by means of a ring of rolling bearing elements, at least one roller path of said elements being shaped in the material of the gear or in the material of a hub which is integrally connected with the housing.

  • Patent number: 4126988
Abstract: A mowing device comprises a housing extending transversely of the direction of movement of the mower, a plurality of cutting members rotatably journalled at said housing and a driving gear accommodated in said housing for driving the cutting members, each cutting member comprising at least one disc skimming the housing and at least one cutter fastened to the periphery or the top side of the disc. In order to eliminate the risk of damage of the mowing device due to stones jammed between the discs filling means are provided in each space at the front edge of the housing, limited by every pair of cutting members and converging in the direction of rotation of said cutting members.

  • Patent number: 4126989
Abstract: A mowing implement comprises a number of rotating cutter members which are arranged next to each other and above a housing and which are slip-free coupled with each other by means of a driving gear arranged inside said housing, while said cutter members are driven by at least one motor arranged beneath a cutter support of a cutter member. Said motor communicates through a set of ducts with the driving member, for example an electrical aggregate or a hydraulical pump, said driving member being arranged on a vehicle and operating as an aggregate for producing energy.
