  • Patent number: 11493703
Abstract: A laser device for optical communication comprises a first laser unit connected to a first optical fiber for supplying a transmission laser beam thereto. wherein the laser device is configured for providing a reference laser beam in addition to the transmission laser beam. For providing the reference laser beam the laser device further includes a second laser unit connected to a second optical fiber for supplying the reference laser beam to the second optical fiber. The first laser unit is configured for providing the transmission laser beam as a linear polarized beam that is polarized in a first polarization direction, and the second laser unit is configured for providing the reference laser beam as a linear polarized beam that is polarized in a second polarization direction.

Assignee: Nederlandse Organisatie voor toegepast-natuurwetenschappelijk onderzoek TNO
Inventors: Lun Kai Cheng, Kristiaan Albert Broekens, Hendrik De Man
  • Patent number: 11199680
Abstract: An optical assembly is manufactured by combining a first optical component with a second optical component. The optical components each comprise respective optical surfaces and alignment structures. The first optical surface is aligned with respect to the second optical surface by a connection between the alignment structures and their predefined relative positions with respect to the optical surfaces. The relative positions are determined by a high-accuracy manufacturing process such as diamond turning wherein, for each optical component, a respective alignment structure is manufactured together with a respect optical surface from a single work piece.

Date of Patent: December 14, 2021
Assignee: Nederlandse Organisatie voor toegepast-natuurwetenschappelijk onderzoek TNO
Inventors: William Edward Crowcombe, Hendrik De Man

  • Patent number: 9316926
Abstract: A system to control the focus of a mask-less lithographic apparatus, the apparatus including a projection system to project an image of a programmable patterning device onto a substrate. A first actuator system is configured to move at least one of the lenses of the projection system in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the projection system. A radiation beam expander is configured to project an image of the programmable patterning device onto the at least one lens. A second actuator system is configured to move the radiation beam expander in a direction parallel to the optical axis of the projection system in order to control the focus of the image projected onto the substrate.
