  • Publication number: 20260167889
Abstract: The disclosure provides a hydrogenated coupled radial styrenic copolymer having three or more polymeric arms radiating from a polyalkenyl coupling agent. Each arm comprises a hydrogenated styrene-butadiene copolymer segment containing vinyl-aromatic and hydrogenated diene-derived units. The coupled radial copolymer functions as a viscosity-index improver and shear-stability enhancer, imparting high viscosity index and reduced viscosity loss to the composition. The hydrogenated coupled radial styrenic copolymer functions as a viscosity index improver in oil compositions, particularly bio-based oil concentrates (composition). The oil concentrate may be further diluted with additional bio-based oils or fossil-based oils to form lubricant or functional-fluid formulations exhibiting improved viscosity retention, oxidative resistance, and thermal stability.
