  • Patent number: 7842750
Abstract: The invention provides a polymer composition which contains a bound heat accumulating phase change material which is in the form of a solid or a paste. This composition is so stable and has such a solid form that it may be easily heated up to 180 (200)° C. and mechanically treated without changing the structure and the composition thereof and without losing its phase change materials. After being heated up the heat emission of this composition is steady and consequently the composition has a long radiation time. Furthermore the polymer composition is easy to produce and has due to its special properties a lot of applications.

  • Publication number: 20100183878
Abstract: The invention provides a coated particle, as well as a method for the preparation thereof and a material or object in which such a particle is applied. The particle consists of a core material and a coating layer. The core material is a homogeneous composition of a salt hydrate and an additive chemical. The salt hydrate provides to the particle its specific technical properties and the additive chemical is chemically bound to the coating layer. The composition of the coating layer is, dependent on the application, mainly determined by the applications and the raw chemicals used.

  • Publication number: 20040198860
Abstract: Method for the manufacture of a plastic film material suitable for implantation, by providing a pharmaceutically acceptable, flexible plastic carrier material with a layer of a photopolymerizable synthetic resin composition containing a photo-initiator, which is given a tack-reducing component. This component is chosen from polyurethane, an initiator or a mixture thereof. The initiator preferably generates a curing accelerator after activation. The invention also relates to an expandable intravascular stent obtained using this material.

  • Publication number: 20040093062
Abstract: To obviate the problems which occur after a treatment of a stenosis by means of the usual dotter treatment followed by the placing of a stent which delivers a medically active substance, the invention proposes an implant assembly, to be fixed in a body vessel, with a section to be directed in the direction of the vessel axis and provided with means to act from therefrom on the surrounding tissue, in which this section, which can be fixed with at least one end by means of an anchoring element to the vessel wall, has a non-rigid structure, in such a way that it can adapt itself to the vessel wall configuration without any appreciable radial pressure on the surrounding tissue. Thus the surrounding tissue is not subjected to undesired pressures and resulting into a rapid recovery, without the formation of new tissue.

  • Patent number: 5741324
Abstract: A method for forming a stent includes forming a sleeve from a biocompatible material, curling one end of the sleeve upon itself to form a skirt extending for a preselected length along and above the sleeve, the skirt and sleeve cooperating to define an annular space therebetween, filling the space with a curable material curling the opposite end of the sleeve onto the skirt to completely enclose the curable material and fixing the opposite end to the skirt to seal the curable material therein.

  • Patent number: 5653736
Abstract: An improved carrier balloon for a stent assembly with radiation-shielding capabilities includes an inflatable, comprising an expandable sleeve enclosing the balloon and an expandable stent in the form of a sleeve filled with a material which sets under the influence of radiation. A radiation conducting optical fiber extend within the balloon and confronts a material impervious to radiation disposed within the balloon at its front end. This material prevents the radiation used for curing the stent from reaching the blood and/or body tissue of a patient.

  • Patent number: 5632763
Abstract: A stent particularly useful in reinforcing bifurcated arteries includes a first primary stent arranged inside a major artery, such the aorta at the level of the bifurcation and at least two secondary cylindrical stents. Each secondary stent is placed inside of a branching artery and inside the lumen of the first primary stent. The secondary stents engage interior portions of the primary stent and are anchored thereto by expansion.

  • Patent number: 5624450
Abstract: The invention relates to an assembly for the removal of a stent from a body vessel without an operation being necessary to gain access to this stent. This assembly has for this purpose an expandable element, connected to a pulling device, the outer surface of which is covered with an adhesive medium and which, when the element is positioned inside the stent, is expanded and lies with its outer surface against the inner surface of the stent and thereby causes an attachment between this outer surface and the inner surface of the stent. The element with the stent attached to it then can be withdrawn via the body vessel.

  • Patent number: 5529653
Abstract: The invention provides an expandable double-walled sleeve whose space between the walls is filled with curable material and which is designed for the local support and/or reinforcement of a body vessel, absorbent material being provided between its walls which are fabricated from an essentially non-extensible material. This achieves the advantage that the curable material remains uniformly distributed between the walls of the sleeve even if the sleeve is rolled around a still unexpanded PTA balloon in order to be brought to the desired position by means of said balloon.

  • Patent number: 5344444
Abstract: A stent made of a hollow expandable ring or sleeve is inserted into a body vessel to locally support or strengthen the vessel. The stent includes a compartment filled with a curable material. The stent is fixed to an inflatable balloon and positioned within the vessel at the desired location. When the balloon is inflated, the stent is expanded into a desired shape. A light conducting fiber is introduced into the vessel to irradiate the material to cure the material in the stent, such that the stent retains the desired shape even after the balloon is removed from the body vessel.

  • Patent number: 4537043
Abstract: An inert gas atmosphere of nitrogen and carbon dioxide is created in a refrigerated container having a diesel engine. A lower oxygen content is maintained by an oxygen limit control while the nitrogen is led into the interior of the container from a gas bottle connected with the container when the predetermined oxygen limit value is exceeded. While the inert gases are being supplied, a constant flow of cold gaseous nitrogen is produced by an electrical evaporator in the liquid nitrogen storage tank and connected to the generator of the diesel engine while carbon dioxide is removed from the gas bottle, heated, released to a constant pressure and fed into the container via throttle points constituting a parallel-switched group of such throttle points which can be individually activated.
