  • Patent number: 9677632
Abstract: The invention relates to an electromechanically actuatable brake (2), comprising an electrically actuatable actuator (30) for applying the brake (2) in an application direction (42), which actuator (30) converts a rotary motion of a spindle (20) into a translational motion of an application element (26), in particular a piston, wherein the spindle (20) is driven by an electric motor (8), wherein a mechanical store for storing energy by twisting is provided, the first end of which store is coupled to the spindle (20) and the second end to a bracing element (80), wherein the store takes up energy during rotation of the spindle (20) in the application direction (42), by which energy the spindle (20) is rotated back against the application direction (42) in the currentless state of the electric motor (8), whereby the brake (2) is released.

  • Patent number: 8006814
Abstract: A brake, in particular for motor vehicles, has a friction member (1) which can be pressed an actuator (15) against or released from the friction face of an element (3) which is to be braked. The brake is equipped with a particularly simple and reliable readjustment device (7) and with an emergency release device (12), wherein the readjustment device has a spindle (9) which drives an adjustable element (8) which is connected thereto, and the emergency release device (12) has two cam disks (13, 14) which are rotatable relative to one another, one (14) of which cam disks is rotationally fixedly connected to the spindle (9).

  • Publication number: 20090101453
Abstract: The invention relates to an electromechanical brake (10), especially for vehicles, which comprises an electrical actuator (18) producing an actuation force and acting upon at least one friction member (21) in order to force said member against a component (21) of the brake to be slowed down, thereby eliciting a frictional force. The invention also comprises a self-energizing system arranged between the friction member (21) and the electrical actuator (18). Said system comprises a wedge arrangement (11) that serves to self-boost the actuation force produced by the electrical actuator (18). The aim of the invention is to simplify said system in terms of design and control technology. For this purpose, the actuator (18) has a single electric motor (24) and the actuation force produced by it is released via a spindle/nut arrangement (30) having a rotationally received, stationary spindle (26) and a rotationally fixed nut (28) that can axially travel on the spindle by rotating the spindle.
