  • Patent number: 4750942
Abstract: The use of a non-plate-shaped colloid, e.g. a silica in a rinse-aid composition for use after a dishwashing operation reduces the drying time and the formation of spots on the rinsed articles when dry.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 30, 1987
Date of Patent: June 14, 1988
    Assignee: Lever Brothers Company
Inventors: Jakob van Dijk, Hendrik S. Kielman, Leendert Los, Rudolf C. Verheul
  • Patent number: 4620936
Abstract: A mildly alkaline enzymatic detergent cleaning composition adapted for use in automatic dishwashing machines comprising (a) an amylolytic enzyme, (b) sodium triphosphate, (c) sodium carbonate and/or borax, (d) sodium silicate, (e) a peroxy compound bleach, (f) a stabilizing agent, and optionally but preferably (g) a proteolytic enzyme and/or (h) a low- to non-foaming nonionic surfactant and/or (i) a fatty acid having chain length of about 12-18 carbon atoms, the amounts of components (b), (c) and (d) being so adjusted that the composition will have sufficent builder and buffering capacity to maintain a solution-pH of from 9.3 to 10.8. The composition presented in the form of a particulate product is an effective machine dishwashing composition comparable to conventional highly alkaline chlorine bleach-containing products.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 6, 1984
Date of Patent: November 4, 1986
    Assignee: Lever Brothers Company
Inventors: Hendrik S. Kielman, Jan S. Bongers
  • Patent number: 4597886
Abstract: By the inclusion of an effective level of a layered clay, e.g. a synthetic hectorite, in an enzymatic dishwashing composition, the formation of spots and films on the cleaned objects is significantly reduced.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 12, 1984
Date of Patent: July 1, 1986
    Assignee: Lever Brothers Company
Inventors: Machiel Goedhart, Franciscus H. Gortemaker, Hermanus C. Kemper, Hendrik S. Kielman
  • Patent number: 4591448
Abstract: The use of a layered clay in a non-enzymatic dish-washing composition with a reduced pH of 9-11 provides for a significant reduction of spot and film formation on the cleaned articles.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 12, 1984
Date of Patent: May 27, 1986
    Assignee: Lever Brothers Company
Inventors: Machiel Goedhart, Franciscus H. Gortemaker, Hermanus C. Kemper, Hendrik S. Kielman

  • Patent number: 4568476
Abstract: Mildly alkaline enzymatic machine dishwashing composition comprising a detergency builder, an amylolytic enzyme, a peroxy compound bleach and optionally a proteolytic enzyme, having a pH of from 9.3 to 10.8 determined from a solution of 3 g/l of the composition in distilled water, and containing not more than 0.2% by weight, preferably not more than 0.1% by weight of chloride. The composition is non-corrosive to silverware.

    Filed: August 6, 1984
Date of Patent: February 4, 1986
    Assignee: Lever Brothers Company
