  • Publication number: 20130245546
Abstract: A functional adhesive bandage includes an adhesive layer and a cover layer. A sensor for measuring a vital parameter, a control unit, an energy storage device, and an actuator are arranged between the adhesive layer and the cover layer. The control unit is configured to evaluate the vital parameter measured by the sensor. The control unit is further configured to regulate the actuator based on the evaluation.

  • Publication number: 20130123719
Abstract: A medication patch compliance control unit system and method is disclosed. The control unit can include an attachment sensor, a user interface and a controller that receives signals from the attachment sensor and sends signals to the user interface. The control unit can include an attachment sensor, a wireless transceiver and a controller that receives signals from the attachment sensor and sends signals through the transceiver. The attachment sensor can be a temperature sensor, and the controller can determine attachment based on whether the sensor is reading temperatures in the normal body temperature range. The user interface can include visual and/or audible indicators. The control unit can include an expiration timer, and provide an expiration signal when the patch is expired. The transceiver can transmit medication patch data to a healthcare provider. The controller can record when the medication patch is attached to and detached from the patient.

  • Publication number: 20120094261
Abstract: A flow meter for a container, for monitoring the dehydration of a patient, has a sensor unit for detecting a flow through the flow meter and a control unit for recording an amount of liquid passing through during a time interval. The flow meter is an adapter for connection to a bottle or a beaker. A patient receives a warning if he should take in liquid. A base station serves for bidirectional transmission of measurement data to an external apparatus, more particularly a telemedical center.
