  • Patent number: 6142373
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for removing items from a cupboard, in which a given item is first selected and then removed from the cupboard. Information on the selected and removed items is recorded by mans of a plug-in storage medium and also in the cupboard. The invention also relates to a cupboard for implementing the process having a device for storing items, apertures for their removal and locking devices for the apertures. There are recording devices on the cupboard for providing information on the items selected or removed, where such information can be displayed by a control device on a storage medium inserted into an aperture and in the cupboard.

  • Patent number: 4989792
Abstract: A valve arrangement for intermittent application of a liquid adhesive, in particular a thermoplastic high-polymer material, to a substrate comprises a valve body with a bore therein terminating in an outlet nozzle, a conduit for supplying the adhesive to the bore, a valve needle reciprocable in the bore for opening and closing the outlet nozzle and a step or differential piston connected to the valve needle. The lower surface of the differential piston faces the outlet nozzle and is smaller; it is subjected to a permanently applied gas pressure which brings the valve needle into the opened position. A controllable, usually constant gas pressure applicable via a solenoid valve acts on the upper larger surface of the differential piston; and upon subjection of the differential piston to the gas pressure, the gas pressure overcomes the force generated by the continuously applied, permanent gas pressure and brings the valve needle into the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4907629
Abstract: An apparatus for liquefying a polyurethane based thermoplastic adhesive which includes a heatable sealed supply container having an upper portion for receiving a downwardly open transport container for the adhesive and a lower portion serving as a buffer volume. A base portion is arranged below the supply container and includes a collecting trough leading to an outlet passage. A cover is provided at the upper end of the supply container and a conduit supplies an inert gas to the interior of the supply container. The conduit also opens into the interior of the transport container. A mandrel having a tip is provided at the inner side of the cover and the tip penetrates the transport container when the cover is closed. The inert gas is provided through an outlet opening located in the side wall of the tip of the mandrel. The gas supply through the conduit is periodically interrupted by a magnetic valve operated by a timer which only opens the valve for short periods, which provides an appreciable gas saving.

  • Patent number: 4898527
Abstract: An apparatus for liquefying a thermoplastic, high-polymer material has a supply container for the thermoplastic material, heating means for heating the material in the supply container, a base part disposed beneath the supply container and containing a collecting trough for the liquefied thermoplastic material and control means regulating the heating means in dependence upon a comparison between a predetermined desired value and an actual value detected by a sensor. In order to be able to follow even rapid changes of the operating conditions the amount of liquefied thermoplastic material conveyed out of the collecting trough is detected as actual value and supplied to the control means; a suitable measure of this amount is in particular the speed of rotation of a pump serving as conveying means to convey the liquefied material from the collecting trough.

  • Patent number: 4308447
Abstract: An apparatus for liquefying meltable material comprises a container adapted to be filled with the material to be liquefied. The container has a heavy bottom wall formed with closely adjacent perforations which taper in downward direction. The sum of the open cross-section of the perforations at the upper face of the bottom wall is only slightly smaller than the total area of the latter, whereas the sum of the smallest cross-sections of the perforations is only a small fraction of the total area of the bottom face of the bottom wall. The bottom wall is heated by electrical heating elements located in ribs separating the perforations from each other to a temperature to liquefy the material passing from the container into the perforations and the liquefied material flows in a collecting trough arranged below the container and separated by a heat insulating layer therefrom.
