Abstract: The invention relates to W/O lotions having a content of at least one unsaturated fatty acid derivative, which are characterized in that they comprise W/O emulsifiers, W/O stabilizers and/or W/O emulsion systems chosen from the group consisting of(A) a W/O emulsifier based on ethoxylated castor oil,(B) a W/O emulsifier (B1) based on sorbitan isostearate and a W/O stabilizer (B2) based on a polyalkylene glycol copolymer and(C) a W/O emulsion system based on a methoxy-polyalkylene glycol copolymer, either(1) the W/O emulsifier of (A) being used, or(2) the W/O emulsifier (B1) being used together with the W/O stabilizer B2 (B), or(3) a combination comprising emulsifiers (A) and (B) with (B1) and (B2) being used, where, in each case,(4) the emulsion system (C) can also be used together with (1) or (2) or (3), and water and, if appropriate, additives or auxiliaries.

Abstract: The application is directed to a water-in-oil lotion containing hydrocotisone-21-acetate-17-propionate and one of four compositions containing a water-in-oil emulsion. The lotion is suitable for use on dry skin, it has good spreadability on large surface areas and it is dermatologically acceptable.

Abstract: Methods and compositions for the treatment of dry skin involve the topical application to affected sites of a composition comprising from about 1% to about 12% by weight of urea and from about 1% to about 10% by weight of and alkali or an earth metal salt of lactic acid such as sodium, potassium or calcium lactate or a mixture of these salts in water-in-oil emulsions. In lotion embodiments, the emulsion typically contains from about 1% to about 10% by weight, more narrowly from about 2% to about 5% by weight, lactate and from about 1% to about 10% by weight, more narrowly from about 2% to about 5% by weight, urea. Abstract: A corticosteroid-containing cream comprising(a) 0.05-0.5 parts fluocortolone(b) 2.5-20 parts fatty acid sorbitan esters and/or a mixture of fatty acid mono- and diglycerides(c) 1-5 parts fatty acid monoglycerides(d) 1-10 parts beeswax(e) 5-25 parts liquid paraffin(f) 25-75 parts petroleum jelly and water ad 100 parts, all parts being by weight.The cream is particularly useful as an anti-inflammatory agent for topical application.
