  • Publication number: 20200252854
Abstract: According to an exemplary embodiment a method may be provided to operate a central unit, CU, node that is coupled with first and second distributed unit, DU, nodes. Communication is provided between the CU node and a mobile communication device through the first DU node over a first radio link between the first DU node and the mobile communication device. A message is received from the first DU node informing the CU node that the radio link is temporarily unavailable. Responsive to receiving the message, communication through the first DU node is suspended, wherein configuration of the first DU node to serve the mobile communication device using the first radio link is maintained. While suspending communication through the first DU node, communication may be provided through the second DU node over a second radio link between the second DU node and the mobile communication device.

  • Publication number: 20200245293
Abstract: The present disclosure relates in general to cellular radio network communication. In one of its aspects, the technology presented herein concerns a method in a wireless device for accessing a communication network. Minimum system information associated with a cell and broadcasted from a network node in the communication network is received, wherein the minimum system information comprises a Public Land Mobile Network identity (PLMN ID) list and an indication that at least one additional PLMN is supported by the communication network. If any of the PLMN IDs in the received minimum system information corresponds to an allowed PLMN ID, the communication network is accessed. If no PLMN ID received in the minimum system information corresponds to an allowed PLMN ID, a request for on-demand system information comprising the at least one additional PLMN is sent to the network node.

  • Patent number: 10721745
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to the scheduling of resources in a telecommunication system that includes a mobile terminal and base station. In one embodiment, the mobile terminal sends an initial scheduling request to a base station. Subsequently, the mobile terminal does not transmit a scheduling request to the base station unless and until a scheduling request triggering event is detected.

  • Patent number: 10715286
Abstract: An inventive UE carrier aggregation (CA) capability reporting signalling model allows UEs (30) aggregating large numbers of component carriers to transmit CA-relevant capabilities to the network more efficiently than the current (legacy) signalling model. Rather than reporting CA/MIMO/CSI/NAICS capabilities separately for each supported band combination, including fallback configurations, embodiments of the present invention either report UE Radio Frequency (RF) and Baseband (BB) related capabilities separately, or report them disassociated from CA band configurations. This approach avoids the need to signal the full UE (30) set of capabilities for each of (possibly many) supported band combinations. Furthermore, fallback capabilities are signalled implicitly, eliminating the need to transmit this data.

  • Patent number: 10716142
Abstract: A first communication device determines one or more parameters for transmitting on an uplink control channel in an unlicensed band to a second communication device operating in a wireless communications network. The one or more parameters comprise an indication of a duration of a channel sensing period. The first communication device then transmits on the uplink control channel to the second communication device, by applying the determined one or more parameters. According to a method performed by the second communication device operating in the wireless communications network, the second communication device determines the one or more parameters. The second communication device then initiates transmitting the determined one or more parameters to the first communication device.

  • Publication number: 20200204303
Abstract: A method is provided in a receiving node for handling status information of data units transmitted from a sending node to the receiving node over a radio link. The receiving node establishes that a number of data units that has been transmitted by the sending node are missing. The receiving node sends a reduced status message to the sending node over the radio link, which message is reduced such that it comprises the negative acknowledgement for a first part of missing data units and omits negative acknowledgements for the rest of the missing data units. The omitted negative acknowledgement for the rest of the missing data units will not erroneously be interpreted as correctly received data units by the sending node.

  • Publication number: 20200058409
Abstract: According to an aspect, a UE in an uplink split-bearer configuration is configured to transmit PDUs by a first RLC entity via a first uplink transmission path and/or by a second RLC entity via a second uplink transmission path. The UE determines a total amount of data volume from PDCP data volume and RLC data volume pending for initial transmission in the two RLC entities. The UE decides whether submission of PDCP data volume is allowed to either of the two RLC entities or to only the first RLC entity, based on whether the total amount of data volume meets or exceeds a first threshold. The UE also reports the PDCP data volume to both the first and second uplink transmission paths or only the first uplink transmission path, based on whether the total amount of data volume meets or exceeds a first threshold.

  • Publication number: 20200053697
Abstract: A base station of a mobile communication network supports continuity of a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service, MBMS, for a terminal. The base station receives, from the terminal, an information element informing the base station of a combination of bands, which the terminal supports for carrier aggregation. The terminal supports MBMS reception on any carrier configurable as a serving cell for the terminal according to the information element. The base station derives, from the received information element, MBMS reception capabilities of the terminal. The base station determines a number of carriers, which are configurable by the base station as serving cell of the terminal, such that the terminal is enabled to receive at least one MBMS.

  • Publication number: 20200029344
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method in a cellular communication system, for avoiding errors in a HARQ process, wherein an NDI flag is used both for indicating either semi-persistent scheduling, SPS activation or SPS retransmissions, and also for indicating, by toggling of the flag, a new transmission in dynamic scheduling mode. The method comprises the steps of receiving, in a scheduling message, an indication that dynamically scheduled transmission will take place; if a semi persistent resource has occurred for the same HARQ process since a previously received indication for dynamically scheduled transmission, then considering the NDI flag to be toggled regardless of the value of the NDI flag. Thus, if the condition is fulfilled, a UE will always regard the NDI flag as indicating or requesting a new data transmission.
