  • Patent number: 7497856
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for the remote-controlled release of active ingredients which are located with a magnetic body in a cavity and which are released under the influence of heat. A substantially biocompatible device, which avoids unnecessary thermal and electromagnetic loads, is created by producing the heat required for releasing the active ingredients by rotating the body in the fluid.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 11, 2005
Date of Patent: March 3, 2009
    Assignee: Fachhochschule Jena
Inventors: Wilfried Andrae, Matthias Erich Bellemann, Henri Danan, Rainer Schmieg
  • Publication number: 20070248661
Abstract: A capsule is capable of releasing at least one agent that is contained therein by heating at least one heating element under the effect of at least one alternating magnetic field at a defined point in a body, said capsule dissolving when entering in contact with a dissolving liquid. The capsule avoids getting stuck on stenoses while being thermally acceptable and favorable from the point of view of energy. In the capsule, the heating element is at least partially surrounded with a capsule part, material of which is provided with greater thermal resistance than the walls of common capsules used for medicaments.
