  • Patent number: 7157258
Abstract: Particles containing dehydrated living micro-organisms are coated with a homogeneous layer of hydrophobic substance selected to reduce the risks of degradation of the micro-organisms by physico-chemical stresses such as heat, humidity, gastric acid, or compression. A method for producing such particles includes injecting a melting hydrophobic substance into the mass of the dehydrated micro-organisms placed in a chamber swept by an air stream at controlled temperature, where the base is rotating.

Abstract: The invention concerns particles containing dehydrated living micro-organisms coated with a homogeneous layer of hydrophobic substance selected to reduce the risks of degradation of said micro-organisms by physico-chemical stresses such as heat, humidity, gastric acid, or compression. The invention also concerns a method for producing such particles, which consists in injecting a melting hydrophobic substance into the mass of said dehydrated micro-organisms placed in a chamber swept by an air stream at controlled temperature and whereof the base is rotating. The invention further concerns the particles obtainable by said method, and the use of said particles in pharmaceutical, dietetic or food compositions.

  • Patent number: 4100427
Abstract: A device is described for converting solar energy into electric power for a load, which device is provided with photocells and electric accumulators. Switching means are provided which at least during starting of the load connect this load to the output terminals of the array of photocells so that during starting the current through the load is determined by the current supplied by the photocells. The device makes efficient use of the available solar radiation, is of simple design and is reliable.

  • Patent number: 4040002
Abstract: A method and apparatus for depth shifting well logging data are described. Well logging data signals are converted to digital data words at intervals determined by well depth pulses representing incremental well depths. The digital data words typical for a number of down hole exploring devices are then placed in groups of shift registers for relative shift advancement to outputs where a desired well depth displacement between data words occurs. Shift control words associated with each well logging signal are read from programmable machine readable records to determine the relative shift advance of the digital data words. A recycling counting and comparing process provides for the programmed shift advance of the digital data words to provide desired depth alignment of the well logging data at the shift register outputs.
