  • Patent number: 9643454
Abstract: A tire for planting equipment is disclosed, the tire composed of a tire material and comprising: a rim-mounting surface, a first side wall having a thickness, a second side wall having a thickness, and a contact wall having a thickness and defining a contact area; the first, second, and contact walls defining a hollow channel, and the second side wall having a tapered portion and disc contact portion. A method for manufacturing a seeder tire of variable hardness is also disclosed, the method comprising the steps of: introducing a first polyurethane compound having a first hardness value into a first portion of a tire mold; allowing an amount of time to elapse wherein the first polyurethane compound will gel; and introducing a second polyurethane compound having a second hardness value into a second portion of the mold.

  • Patent number: 8499414
Abstract: A spring-force-adjustable and height-adjustable industrial caster wheel includes spring assembly, a mounting plate, a swivel assembly that swivels relative to the mounting plate, and a spring housing having a spring space in which the spring assembly is located. The spring force of the spring assembly is adjustable by pre-loading the spring assembly along the top-to-bottom direction along which the caster load is applied. The spring assembly includes a spring member having one or more relief areas on one or more of its side and/or end surfaces and/or internally within the spring member. These one or more relief areas allow the spring member to easily deform under the pre-load force or under increasing caster load forces without compromising the ability of the spring space to constrain lateral movements of the spring assembly or the ability of the spring member to deform elastically and/or avoid undergoing plastic deformations.

  • Patent number: 8424887
Abstract: A height-adjustable industrial caster wheel includes a mounting plate, a swivel assembly that swivels relative to the mounting plate, and a spring housing that is movable relative to the swivel assembly. The mounting plate or the spring housing is secured to the swivel assembly, such that the relative position of the swivel assembly and either the mounting plate or the spring housing can be controllably altered to change the overall height of the height-adjustable industrial caster wheel. If needed, a locking mechanism can be used to maintain the relative position between the swivel assembly and the mounting plate or the spring housing. The height-adjustable industrial caster wheel can be adjusted by accessing the height-adjustable industrial caster wheel from above, eliminating the need to raise the pallet truck away from the floor to be able to access and adjust the height-adjustable industrial caster wheel.

  • Patent number: 7093319
Abstract: An industrial caster wheel assembly including a base member, a wheel, side plates, a housing, a pivot axle, a suspension assembly and an adjustment assembly. The suspension assembly includes an adjustable axle, a support member, and a plate. The support member allows one of the wheel and the base member to rotate about the pivot axle as the adjustable axle compresses the support member by contacting the plate. The adjustment assembly adjusts the height of the industrial caster wheel by adjusting the pressure applied by the adjustable axle to the support member. The industrial caster wheel assembly may alternatively include at least one adjustment assembly that can be placed in contact with at least one of the second axle to press the second axle at least indirectly against the elastomeric support member or the first axle to press the first axle toward the center of the housing.
