    Abstract: The resistive elements are made up of strips of carbon/carbon composite material that are interconnected by connection pieces that are likewise made of carbon/carbon composite material and that serve both for making electrical connections and for making mechanical connections between the strips. The strips and the connection pieces are assembled together at least in part by means of their shapes. The resistive elements may be coated in a layer of pyrocarbon.
