  • Patent number: 5794662
Abstract: A method of relining sewer lines, waterlines or gas lines is disclosed which uses a segmented liner of reduced size relative to the pipe being relined, with the liner being heat/pressure molded to the shape of the pipe being relined. The liner segments are joined by conventional joining techniques, however, the preferred joint is achieved by fusion.

  • Patent number: 5078430
Abstract: A method is disclosed for relining buried pipeline with interconnectable plastic type pipe sections. The method comprises gaining access to an open end of the buried pipeline, such as through a manhole, passing pipe sections down the manhole and inserting individually each pipe section into the buried pipeline open end. Each pipe section is of a length to permit, within the confines of the manhole, insertion of each pipe section into the pipeline open end. Each pipe is of a diameter to fit within the pipeline. The pipe section to be inserted is interconnected to the pipe section already inserted within the buried pipeline. Such interconnected sections are sequentially moved into the buried pipeline to permit insertion of the next pipe section into buried pipeline until the entire length of the pipeline to the next access area has been relined.

  • Patent number: 4692231
Abstract: According to the present invention a cathodic protection system for metal piping systems and fittings, therefore, is possible which is easy to install and manufacture. The system for fitting uses a unique sacrificial washer or sacrificial nut installed on the bolts used to fasten the fitting and includes a nonsacrificing portion to maintain the mechanical connection during and after depletion of the sacrificing metal. A unique ring anode is also taught which is secured to the bellmouth of a section of pipe to provide an extension thereof which can be factory or field installed. Preferrably each anode is designed to protect two connected pipe sections or a pipe section and fitting.

  • Patent number: 4245970
Abstract: A method for connecting a lateral sewer line to a main sewer line which is relined with a plastic pipe liner, comprises plugging a lateral sewer line upstream of the main sewer line to seal off the lateral sewer line, spraying a grout material downstream of the location of the plug until the space between the main sewer line and the plastic pipe liner is filled, allowing the group material to set, removing the plug from the lateral sewer line and providing an opening through the grout material and the plastic pipe liner so that the lateral sewer line is connected to and in communication with the plastic pipe liner. An apparatus which is used to plug the lateral sewer line and dispense the grout material comprises a spray gun positioned within a tubular inflatable bladder where the nozzle for the spray gun is in front of the bladder. The apparatus also includes means for conveying compressed air to and for conveying compressed air from the inflatable bladder.
