  • Publication number: 20150231900
Abstract: A printer for forming an inkjet image has an advance mechanism for a print substrate. The printer includes an advance mechanism for moving a print substrate in a transport direction. The advance mechanism includes a feed roller engaging the print substrate on a first surface of the print substrate for applying a driving force thereto and a pressure roller, being arranged opposite to the feed roller. The pressure roller has a textured outer surface which texture is in operation in rolling contact with a second surface of the print substrate. The texture of the outer surface is provided with a plurality of protrusions. The pressure roller diminishes print artifacts, which are related to an irregular crystallization of the hot melt ink.

  • Patent number: 7946673
Abstract: A method of preparing an inkjet printhead, prior to generating an image onto a receiving medium, the printhead containing a substantially closed ink duct comprising an inlet opening and a nozzle, said duct being operationally connected to an electro-mechanical transducer, the method including the steps of arranging that the duct is filled with ink; generating a pressure wave in the ink, the pressure wave causing a deformation of the transducer which generates an electrical signal as a result; analyzing the electrical signal, and deciding on the basis of the analysis whether the inkjet printhead is ready to proceed with the printing of the image. The inkjet printer is also modified to perform the present method.

  • Patent number: 4344104
Abstract: A corona device suitable for use in electrophotographic apparatus to provide a uniform charge on photoconductive material comprises as the ion-generating means a multiplicity of electrode pins, all of the same diameter, which are provided at the same mutual spacing from one another in a body of insulating material from which all the pins project to the same extent, with the pins limited to a diameter between 10 and 100 microns, a mutual spacing of between 0.3 and 2.5 mm, a projecting length of between 0.7 and 3 mm, a length to diameter ratio of between 10 and 300 and a spacing distance to diameter ratio of between 4 and 250. The electrode pins are formed from lengths of a suitable conductive wire which are laid at the required mutual spacing and soldered to and between conductive strips to form an electrically conductive unit that is embedded in a cast body of the insulating material with free ends of the wire lengths projecting to the required extent.
