Patent number: 10369602Abstract: A system comprising a mixer with a rotary head fitted with a nozzle for ejecting liquid into a container. At least one drive member rotates the rotary head such that liquid is ejected into the container in a predetermined pattern. A processing unit is configured to receive first and second operation parameters that are representative of mixing of a liquid content of the container respectively cleaning of an inner surface of the container. The processing unit then controls the drive member in response to the operation parameters such that mixing respectively cleaning is effected. A related method and a computer-readable medium are also described.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 2012Date of Patent: August 6, 2019Assignee: ALFA LAVAL CORPORATE ABInventor: Henrik Falster-Hansen

Publication number: 20150001310Abstract: A monitoring arrangement for a liquid ejection apparatus capable of ejecting liquid in a pattern on an interior surface of a tank, the monitoring arrangement comprising a sensor unit that generates a signal indicative of liquid coming into contact with the interior surface of the tank, and a processing unit configured to: receive the signal; retrieve a reference property that is indicative of liquid coming into contact with the interior surface; register, during a measuring period when the fluid nozzle ejects liquid, at least one current property of the signal; compare the current property with the reference property; and initiate, if the current property deviates from the reference property beyond a predetermined level, a message indicative of the deviation.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 11, 2013Publication date: January 1, 2015Inventors: Henrik Falster-Hansen, Karsten Schack Madsen, Claus Brandt

Patent number: 8277572Abstract: To ensure that liquid and/or vapors do not escape from a tank space during cleaning by means of cleaning equipment, a housing (2) is provided with magnetic coupling equipment according to the invention, comprising two cooperating pole elements (8,9) which extend hermetically isolated from each other with pole parts extending in the turbine housing (3) on the tank space side and the gear housing (1) itself outside the tank space, respectively. This provides a considerable degree of security against liquid and gas leakage, while making it possible to achieve a compact structure with easy access for service and maintenance.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2005Date of Patent: October 2, 2012Assignee: Alfa Laval Tank Equipment A/SInventor: Henrik Falster-Hansen

Patent number: 7507298Abstract: By constructing tank cleaning equipment according to the invention such that it comprises a cleaning jetting part (7, 9) as well as a suction part (4), the equipment can work with the same cleaning medium which is recirculated. This saves supply of fresh cleaning medium, and since used medium is thus not discharged, it is not necessary to establish deposit facilities to avoid pollution. Furthermore, this equipment according to the invention may advantageously be used for keeping so-called drilling mud in a mixed and thus ready-to-use state, even when left to stand for an extended period of time in a tank. The nozzle jets (10) thus keep the mud in the tank in a constantly mixed state, and the mud can therefore be sucked through the suction pipe (20) for pumping in the drill pipe, it being ensured that the mud is homogeneous and has a suitable viscosity.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2002Date of Patent: March 24, 2009Assignee: Alfa Laval Tank Equipment A/SInventors: Henrik Falster-Hansen, Ib René Vinther Elgaard
