  • Patent number: 9217496
Abstract: Friction driving mechanism for converting a rotating movement of a member into an axial movement of the same and consisting of driving means and to its rotating member connected friction means. The friction means comprises a holder 3, in which there is a number of mutually movable and with the holder 3 in relation to the shaft rotating balls as the axes of rotation of the balls 5 are oblique in relation to the longitudinal axis if the shaft 1. Each of the rotatable balls 5 are according to the invention embedded in rotatable bearing bushes 6. If the shaft 1 meets a stop so that the balls 5 no longer are able to transmit an axial movement to the shaft 1 the axes of rotation of the balls 5 will try to adjust so as to be approximately parallel to the shaft 1. As a result the balls 5 at regular intervals will change position so that the wear is equally distributed over the whole surface of each ball. The advantage is that the friction driving mechanism has a longer lifetime than previously known.

  • Patent number: 6736170
Abstract: A device serving for sealing and inflating an inflatable object provided with an inflation valve, for example a tire. The device is of the kind that includes a pressure gas source and a container containing a sealing agent. In addition, the device includes a reversing valve for opening a first connection between the pressure gas source and the inflation valve of the object in a first position and a second connection between the pressure gas source and the container and further between this container and the inflation valve of the object in a second position. In one mode of operation, the device can be used for inflating an object having gone flat to a specified pressure, while in a second mode of operation, it can be used for sealing and inflating a punctured object. Thereby, the heavy and bulky spare wheel which drivers conventionally have in the car is rendered dispensable.

  • Patent number: 6322332
Abstract: A device for the external cooling of the electrical drive motor of a centrifugal pump unit, which with the motor is advantageously to be assembled above the centrifugal pump, comprises a hermetically closed hollow body of heat-conducting material which circumferentially at least partly surrounds the motor and which with its wall surface on the motor side and on the pump side is in heat-conducting surface contact with the motor and the centrifugal pump, wherein the hollow body is essentially filled with a fluid which transfers the motor heat and which, with a heated motor, is subject to a natural circular convection flow.

  • Patent number: 4822455
Abstract: A distilling and desalination apparatus comprising an evaporation chamber and a condensing chamber in which the evaporation chamber through a cooling circuit communicates by way of heat exchange with the condensing chamber and rotates in relation thereto. The evaporation chamber is constructed to form a thin fluid film on the inner surface of the evaporation chamber during rotation, surplus water being slung out along the edge and into channels and led tangentially to the rear by blades. The cooling circuit comprises a condensing portion and an evaporation portion, the fluid being evaporated along the inner surface of the coolant condensing portion, and fluid vapors being condensed along the outer surface of the coolant condensing portion, whereupon the drops of fluid are slung outwards and collected.

  • Patent number: 4306454
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for metering a flow of a liquid, such as a milk flow in a milking system. The liquid is passed into a metering or measuring chamber from which it is discharged in portions having substantially the same mass or weight, and the total number of liquid portions discharged is counted whereafter the total mass or weight of the liquid flow may be calculated on the basis of that count. The discharge operation is controlled by a float member arranged within the metering chamber and containing a magnet which may actuate reed switches positioned at different levels along the metering chamber. Each liquid portion is discharged from the metering chamber by exposing the chamber to a gas pressure substantially exceeding the pressure at the discharge end of a metering chamber outlet. The metering chamber is preferably partly defined by a bell-shaped valve body controlling the metering chamber inlet and being movable to its closed position under the influence of said gas pressure.

  • Patent number: 4008929
Abstract: This invention concerns a self-tightening friction drive device for the conversion of a rotary motion into an axial motion. The device comprises two or more ball bearing jaws retained in angularly spaced position around a shaft, each of the jaws having at least one recess for receiving and supporting a respective ball bearing or roller bearing of larger internal diameter than the external diameter of the shaft extending through the bearings and engaging with the inner rings thereof an inclined angle. Each of the recesses presents in a section perpendicular to the axis of the respective bearing a curve whose radii of curvature are greater than the outer radius of the bearing.

  • Patent number: 3966280
Abstract: This invention concerns an apparatus for the conversion of a rotary motion into an axial motion, said apparatus comprising a number of rolling bearings having larger inner diameter than the outer diameter of a shaft, which extends through the bearings in such a manner that the bearings exert radial forces on the shaft, the vectorial sum of said forces being equal to zero. Each bearing is supported in a recess in one of two or more jaws, said recesses being arranged so that the axis of each bearing is inclined relatively to the axis of the shaft in such a way that each bearing will roll along a helical line on the surface of the shaft. The jaws are totated in common and the jaws are provided with clamping means adapted for increasing the radial forces against the shaft in response to the axial load on the shaft.
